  • I would trade my 4th vex for a mida multitool Or my extra raid gear for a Monte Carlo...

    • Everyone says "NO. BECAUSE NOT EVERYONE IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE THE SAME GEAR" But the reality is that to get to level 30...YOU NEED THE SAME GEAR EVERYONE ELSE HAS. So, that's a non-argument...

      • Trade would ruin the game. 1. Players would find a way to exploit it. Either dup items or start RMT. 2. There just isn't enough items in the game to even need a trade system. 3. The ONLY reason people cry about wanting a trade system is cause they didnt get their class item from an engram. The devs want you to play all classes. This is why it's random. 4. Adding trade will only make the people with level 30 gear and 100 exotics cry more because people are reading for top gear not "earning" it

        • I disagree. Trading would ruin this game. It would be unfair for someone that has beaten the hard raid numerous times and gotten the Vex Mythoclast or doubles for raid gear to trade them off for some other weapon or materials to someone that CANNOT beat the raid. Items like this floating around to people with no skill to get thru the hardest aspects of the game, should not have a resource elsewhere to get this stuff. As I stated before, trading would ruin Destiny.

          • The ONLY, and I repeat ONLY, reason to have a trade system is to allow creative clan leaders/admin to host creative in-game events. For example: I'd host a 12 man sparrow race around Venus.... Winner get an exotic. ETC. Otherwise, it'll break the game.

NO. The reason being this game is based on not everyone having the same stuff at once. It wouldn't be right for guys who have played for awhile now to watch someone bring there friend in who just got the game and give him stuff like a full set of raid gear, a vex or anything. You want it keep grinding for it or just quit because you leaving won't bother me I have a full list of friends who don't mind grinding for what they want. If you have 200 shards then go get more legendary gear and upgrade it or again just stop playing. So sick and tired of the lazy people begging for things to just be given out. How did you get your stuff well I met a cool guy on here and just gave it too me. Then you suck! Edit: I understand a lot of people have the same thing but out of 1.5 million users probably only about 400k are similar and when the next gear drops and also the next raid that number will be probably cut in half. Where if you have a trade someone who can't beat the first raid will be given raid gear from the second raid and be a 31 or 32 with no work involved.

            • Another random who knows nothing about the ease of duplication of in game items when such a system exists.... No. I don't want this game to be like diablo on console...I.e everyone has all the best stuff gear because of duplication..

              • A strange coin based trade system would be great. Add to that a coin dump where you can purchase materials etc. There is already a baseline for what exotics are worth.

How about eliminating the glimmer cap and creating one universal exchange system. Here, one person puts an item up for sale and the entire game playerbase can see it and purchase for a certain set amount of glimmer that the seller would choose. This would actually make glimmer mean something and have an actual in game economy. This would also make giving away free things impossible through traditional player trading and allow us to have use for all of those double legendaries/exotics we obtain that can simply be sold off. Example: Someone could put up "The Last Word" for 200,000 glimmer. Anyone playing the game can search for "The Last Word" and enter the amount of glimmer they wish to spend for the gun. If they enter less than 200,000 glimmer they will not receive the gun and get their glimmer back. If they enter say 245,000 glimmer, they receive their gun as well as the 45,000 glimmer back that was extra. No one would ever know who sold it and who bought. This would be an anonymous system. This is just a rough idea, but similar systems are implemented in many MMOs and would work perfectly for whatever genre destiny is.

                  • I used to be against this but then I realized that the difficulty to obtain anything of worth in this game is artificially enforced by RNG and nothing else. If loot/level in this game was skill based, I would have a problem with this but since you can get high level stuff for basically just showing up at the right time, why not allow trades? At least it would bring more excitement when you find something you don't want/need. Imagine instead of people raging for getting the same stuff over and over, they say "Yes, I can trade this to someone for [insert item here]!"

                    • I'd like to see equivalent trading. Exotics for exotics, raid gear for raid gear, etc...This way you would have to have something of equal value before you could trade, ensuring that some random new player couldn't just immediately fill their vault with exotics. It also means you would have to be willing to give up something in order to get something in return.

                      • No trades. We already have ballin' outrageous scrubs. No need for that. Ran a strike with a 28 once who clearly cheesed his/her way through the entire game and the raid. Had full legendary, couple raid pieces, IB, Epilogue, and some crazy looking rocket. Ask me how many Medic medals I got in that game. Again. NO TRADES.

                        • The only way I could see this working is if they took a page out of Diablo III's book: There isn't finite player-to-player trading per se, but rather it is based off of who is in your game at the time of the drop. In addition, the item has a timer once found allowing the player to trade it with those in the same game for 2 hours. If something like this were implemented, I could see it working to a degree. It would have to be where only NON raid GUNS and ARMOR are tradeable within the group (nothing else....no mats, ships, etc.)

                        • I agree but only for the same class. Legendary for a legendary, exotic for an exotic etc. I don't see how that would break the game.

I mean, I've beat the raid 13x on hard start to finish and don't have the vex !! Just put a trading system in it's really not going to make things any worse is it ?

Yes, a trade system is begging to be added with the whole "get the exact same item in the raid each time" system bungie has. Once you get an item, you are more likely to get it from now on. I always have too much energy and some always have too many shards, a trade will prevent the 200 shards my friend has from going unused. Note: to all those who think duplication can happen; it is highly unlikely. The reason being that your character data is saved on their servers and not your hard drive like borderlands. This cuts out the ability to manipulate data easily and the fact that if an item is traded the server immediately saves.

                            • Why don't they have a sort of auction...like for instance if i put a piece of equipment up for auction that I don't want. People can then see you're item and make offers with equipment that they don't want . Then if you see a item of interest...boom! Traded....everybody is happy

                                • Its pandora's box. If its not done correctly it will lead to farmers, bots and a ton of scams. If it went that route and they tried to remove it, that would be a disaster. Better to not have it at all.
