When we first met, my husband and I bonded over video games. I let him borrow ff10 and gta3 for the ps2. We've been playing video games together nearly everyday for the past 13 years. Also bonding over our love for Harry Potter and other things that people might consider "nerdy" but the truth is it's not. Everyone has some sort of pop culture thing they bond with their mate over. While I don't consider myself nerdy, nearly everyone I know does. Some of my non gaming "friends" (if you can call them that, lol jk) are pretty jelly over the fact that I obsess over things like video games.... Reading about them, listening to podcasts about them, playing them, video game themed beenies when i knit, yeah they wished they had my life. (As I look down just now i realized i'm wearing my Umbrella Corp hoodie, and the Destiny bracelet I got when i picked up my game) I think my point is DON'T EVER BE ASHAMED OF BEING A NERD/GEEK/ETC... though, you're not really, by definition. This is a whole lot of blathering with no real end.
