Bad JuJu, and why it needs a buff.

Perhaps an argument could be made that it is the absurd number of Suros' being wielded to all-but-overpowered effectiveness in the Crucible as of late (I'm guilty of buying one of these man-mowers myself). Perhaps, it could be argued, that the amazingly cool sounding unique upgrade, String of Curses (ooh, goosebumps!), oh so insidiously gifted unto the skull-mounted gun, pull the balance back into order. Or, far, far more likely, the absolutely pathetic, not to mention OCD inducing and illogical, magazine size of only a sparce FIFTEEN rounds is to blame? Me thinks so too. Firing four rounds a burst at a decent pace means that this weapon will be firing out the last three rounds it has on offer (which is like nails on a chalkboard for me every time I acknowledge that this gun's magazine size isn't divisible by four) after a measly THREE pulls of the trigger. That's four volleys of lead per magazine. I don't think I've ever killed an opponent with full health with only three bursts to the body. No other gun, as far as I know, shamefully harbors such wimpy stats. Let me reiterate. More than seventy five percent of Bad JuJu's bullets per mag can land center mass on an opponent, and you will still not drop them, if even only one or two rounds miss. Now imagine if your pretty Suros took more than twenty shots to the body to drop your target. "But Blake!" I hear, "You're not taking that thing, that thing you mentioned earlier into consideration! With String of Curses, Bad JuJu reloads instantly AND gets a damage buff after every kill! If anything, THAT's pushing the boundaries on whats fair and whats not!" To that, I would have to confess; I have not managed to unlock that fabled upgrade. I'm only halfway to my first damage upgrade (the fourth upgrade that is unlocked). Therefore, I cannot tell of what the weapon's potential may be in the future. I do know, however, through simple logic, that if securing the first kill is the main hurdle, that any benefits, regardless of how potent they are, are worthless, when they depend on my getting the ball rolling. Because unless you're a headhunter, it is impossible to kill two healthy guardians with a single magazine, something very few other guns can boast. And in case the glowing green miasma, spine, and skull fixed to this gun didn't tip you off (not to mention the smile-inducing name), this isn't your average gun. This is an Exotic. And while it is technically Bad, I'd like to think that the guys and gals over yonder had more of a Terminator good-bad thing in mind when they dubbed my chosen weapon. So what do I want? More damage? A nice big buff that's gonna let me skate around PvP, frightening children back under their beds in fear with glistening eyes that reflect JuJu's deadly aura? Nah. Just five more rounds. One more squeeze of the trigger before that horrible clicking sounds off to signal to future me that I'm in deep caca; that there will be no chaining of curses, for I have failed to down even a single guardian before blazing through my mag, and that my life is over (for the next three seconds until my spamming of the respawn button brings me back, of course). Listen, I'm a nineteen year old who's not even managed to secure a ticket into a college yet (its in the works though!). I'm not a Bungie employee, although anyone there is free to contact me about changing that :) I'm not a multiplayer designer, a game tester, or any other lofty title holder. I am, however, a huge fan of Bungie, of their passion, and, most of all, of their continued and seemingly unending commitment to their work. I am also, as it just so happens, someone who has played a good amount of matches in the Crucible with more than four thousand guardian kills, most of which happen in Control and, while I may not exactly be a Bad JuJu expert, I have played and played and played with it, and I truly do believe that this weapon needs a mag increase. It's not my only Exotic, I don't speak on behalf of self-service. I have a fully upgraded Gjallarhorn and a brand new Suros Regime just waiting to tear the competition up. My motivation behind trying to convince those at Bungie of the necessity of this ammo buff is purely in the pursuit of a fun, balanced, ridiculously awesome looking Exotic weapon. I can't increase the mag size of Bad JuJu. Only you, Bungie. Only you. With love, respect, and two drops of expectant stare, Blake

  • Why it needs a buff... Because it's gash lol. That's all you needed to say. It should be getting one soon though, they're aware it's not very good.
