So I was Strolling along Venus...
There i was on my Timebreaker looking for some spirit bloom to Upgrade my gauntlets and Vex Mythoclast, little did i know that i would find a team struggling to crack the entrance to the Vault of Glass...There were lvl 26 and 27s, one of them was 28 and they kept losing their Vex Plates to open up the portal..
So I decided to lend a hand :)
With My Lvl 29 Warlock and Vex Mytho, I just simply took down everything i could to help them out. Only took about 10 mins, maybe less i wasn't counting..for all of us to raise the spire...Never have I've seen so much joy when they cracked the Entrance.
I got waves of gratitude and messages saying Thanks and just danced with them. I got on my Timebreaker and sped off while they enter into the Adventure that is The Vault of Glass.
Thats one of the reasons why I love Destiny. You never know when a helping hand will come..im glad to have at least one moment like that :D

I never realized this could happen; I always sort of thought the whole raid happened in a closed lobby, I never see anyone around when we open the gate and in the many times I've passed through the area I've never seen anyone else opening the gate... Interesting. On a side note, I feel bad for those guys; opening the gate is the easy part what lies inside will destroy them.

I just did this Friday night. It felt good helping out a raid team. I kinda stood back just sniping some minotaur until I saw they were really struggling so I jumped in on their weakest side and helped them finish

Edited by iksaru302: 10/28/2014 7:51:49 AMI tried to do this once but couldn't get the group having trouble to understand that they had to split up among the 3 sync plates. Some form of local chat and maybe that group could have made it inside on that attempt.

Aside the fact, that I do like that attitude and give kudos to you for helping fellow guardians - That should be common behaviour, and in any MMO I played (and am still playing) it's nothing special to help other gamers or get help from other gamers. Due to a broken PS4 I can't play Destiny atm, so I can not really judge if it is different here, but my guess would be that it's not. It's in the nature of MMO. Just mentioning. So : well done, nothing special, keep it up.

To all the people making rude remarks. These days I don't mind one bit if someone publicizes their attempts to help others out. With the rise in so many selfish and rude individuals, this post is a breath of fresh air to me. May RNGesus be with you Guardian.

I did this once and followed the team down into the vault. They all kept looking back at me like: "is this guy really gonna follow us the enitre way? lol?" But eventually they disappeared before the first chest, which wasn't there for me and the crack entrance was not there either. So I went all the way back and turns out the vault was closed and I couldn't leave, I killed myself a few times, but It didn't work. So I had to go back into orbit where I then lost connection to destiny servers and then stubbed my toe IRL. This is why I will never help anyone in the future.

Epic, well done! This game might frustrate the crap out of people myself included but it does have some inspiring moments. I tried taking on a public activity at a lower level and was getting handed my own a-- defending a satellite. Was almost dead from a yellow Fallen Captain when he and the rest of his enemy group just up and exploded right in front of me. A higher level player had jumped in with a rocket launcher and helped finish off the timer with me. Didn't catch the GT, but always remember it. Why I still love this game.

2 RepliesSometime last week we tried the vault of glass for the first time. We weren't ready by any means. I think our levels was 25,26,27,27,28,28. But we wanted to just get a feel for it. We struggled but a few randoms showed up and helped and we did it. Can't remember who the names of the randoms were. But we all danced, waved lol and bowed for his help. This was on xbox 1 definitely appreciate anyone our clan has come in contact with. We tried it again yesterday almost completed it on the second go, but slowly ran into trouble again. With the help of a random we completed it again. Its fustrating our goal is to do it ourselves and we still need practice but very much appreciate the help.

People like you are what this game great. Last week I had a raid party of only 4 going and I don't think we would have made it past that part without a couple randoms jumping in and taking out those praetorians for us. Thank you kind guardian!

That was good I was strolling along and found sailor moon She has replaced my ghost. Plus she fights with me in pve and is upgrade able Yeah yours was awesome

I do this all the time. Actually feels good being able to help out and you get the gratitude from them for helping. The best is when you can tell they haven't done the Vault before and you watch as they descend into the depths and you think to yourself they have no idea what they are in for. They are probably going to get their asses handed to them but they're going to have a blast doing it :)

You needed to post on the forums about your gear and how cool you are that you helped people once while minding your own business? I help fellow Guardians all the time, but I feel no need to brag on the forums about it. I have some really good gear, but I don't talk about it because plenty of people have the kind of gear as me. If I saw some people struggling with the gate, I might help them a little, but if it was obvious they couldn't do it without a 7th man helping, what good would it do to get them in for some shards / energy and then get -blam!- on the Confluxes and Templar fights? If they lack the coordination for the Gate, they won't be passing that without a lot of luck. It's called a waste of time. Better to go on strikes or PvP for gear.

I just started a new Hunter and was in the Cosmodrome, when a public event came up. I looked around and nobody else was in the area, so I decided to jump in with my level 4 Hunter and give it a try. I was doing fine early and then some heavy hitters started showing up. I was reviving my third time, when a level 28 joined the event. It totally changed the experience from futile to doable. Being on the receiving end of a little help, I can tell you that it was most appreciated. A level 24 also came in and a gold tier rating was awarded. I know the others also benefitted from the event, but I also know that I could not have succeeded without them.

I do the same thing when I'm bored with material farming. There's a raised stone pillar back directly across from the Vault. I'll get up there, make myself comfy, and be the seventh man for teams trying to open the Vault. I'll snipe from distance, last night I even had to leave my perch and go from plate to plate like you did to help them out. I get waves of gratitude, and wave them "good luck" as they race off into the Vault. It's fun. I like giving them a good send off to start their big adventure. :)
