Destiny is not made for anyone with a job or family

I stuck with Destiny for a while. I defended Bungie through many changes and updates. But as time goes by I see a pattern here. A pattern that is edging me, and others like me, out of Destiny entirely. Who are "other like me"? People with careers and families. I feel like Bungie is looking at a small audience with many of the patches. I think Bungie is slowly edging out the gaming community that has money to spend; ya know, people who work full time jobs and have families that do not have 6+ hours solid several times a week to play this. I wish I could get my expansion money back because I am certain not to play it now. I hate that I fed Bungie money to do this to us. They will not get one more dime from me now that I know that they do not care about my type of gamer. They apparently cater to the "I can game for 10 hours a day" crowd. Yeah, I know, people are going to jump all over this and claim they are super elite gamers that got to level 28 and defeated VOG on level 30 with under 20 hours of gameplay. But ya know what? Ya'll are not the majority of players. I congratulate your gaming powers, but realistically you are not the market share. And before people start calling me a casual gamer or farmer, use the Bungie app and Xbox tools to actually look at my stats. I am not a farmer, I am not a "casual gamer". I just happen to have a job and a family so I can do things like drop $90 on a game and its DLC. I feel totally excluded from this game because I simply CANNOT play for hours and hours on end every day. I can do 3-4 hrs a day on weekdays and 6+ on weekends, but every update makes me feel more and more like Bungie is making sure that if I am not truly "hardcore" AND jobless I can't enjoy Destiny. When friends or coworkers ask me about Destiny I tell them it isn't enjoyable unless you can sink an incredible amount of time constantly into the game. If you have any life at all, the game quickly becomes boring and unenjoyable because all the patches are about catering to this small community of people who have tons of time to play. This prevents most people who have families from even giving it a try. Bungie needs to get its priorities straight. Until they do, I am done with Destiny entirely. I will gladly spend my hard earned money giving it to Ubisoft, Rockstar or Bioware who seem to understand people have to have a job to pay for their game content.

 • I have a job and a family and I do just fine. Not as great as I could do without the crying and the hyperactivity and mandatory family time. But play well I do. Most MMO's (yeah I called it an MMO) require a time sink to get higher end equipment or into events. And the people that don't have that time and dedication can always do it later. Even from the days of text scrolling RPGS on IRC and AoL to even WOW, the formula was never to cater to people who CAN dump enormous amounts of time, but have the events and gameplay/rewards there when they are supposed to be there. And if the players make it there in time to enjoy it they do, if not they don't. It will happen in this game, the next, the one after, the sequels of those games, and so forth. So the time you do have use it to play the way you can and want, but telling bungie that they are "MAKING" destiny unenjoyable with each update that has nothing to do with HOW you enjoy the game with your time is slightly overdoing it. I mean lets start from the major updates that would even attempt to make you not enjoy destiny because you can't sink time into it. -They updated and improved the RNG systems by making engrams turn into said quality item or higher. And decreased the mob spawns in certain areas? How does that update make sure that if you are not truly hardcore and jobless you cant enjoy destiny? --They hotfixed queens wrath gear from turning into A.Shards due to quality of the gear, then they hotfixed ARS and other weapons. How does that update make sure that if you are not truly hardcore and jobless you cant enjoy destiny? - They are hotfixing atheon pushing and even putting in a way to increase the rate of which you can level up IB rep if you don't have a chance to play ALL WEEK among other great IB features and fixes. How does that update make sure that if you are not truly hardcore and jobless you cant enjoy destiny? Even if you do play a single player game, another person who has that same game who has more time than you is going to have better gear/stats and more things completed/participated in than you. Even a multiplayer game with non PVP gane like borderlands , if you dont have the time to play and both you and your friends start on the same day and your friend has more time that you.......they are going to have more things and things done than you. And say the next dlc comes out for that game and you haven't reached max level due to your time constraints that is on you not the game developers.
