IRON BANNER 1.5 (Its Happening) :D
Earlier in the month I went on a rant about how Bungie is making everyone do raids so they cant hit Lvl 30+ and how this is unfair to players that just want to PVP. My suggustion was to give PVP players Lvl 30+ gear that can be earned through the Crucible as rewards and I was pretty suprised to read this in the weekly update:
[b][i]"In the next Iron Banner, new exclusive reward Armor will be bumped to Level 30, but will still only be available in two slots. For advanced players, this will make them viable functional or visual sidegrades."[/i][/b]
Which means now you will need 1 piece of raid gear + 1 exotic + 2 pieces of iron banner gear = Lvl 30 instead of 3 pieces of raid gear and 1 exotic like how it is now.
FCUK YES BUNGIE!!!! This is a good alternative to the raid which doesnt have any match making, as long as you guys make the RNG in a way that after every IB match one or two players get legendary loot.

Even for players who are predominantly PVE, this is a good thing. The raid rewards, like all drops, are RNG. I've been through the raid 4 times on normal and 3 times on hard. I've received two pieces of raid gear so far and that is VERY lucky. Some people have been through the raid 10+ times with no gear rewards. Not to mention that you can only get these rewards once per week. That's bad. If you're willing to torture yourself through the raid more than once per week, there should be a chance for some kind of reoccurring reward. It's not okay that people have to get lucky to level up to 30. Shamefully, I've put almost 8 days worth of game play into my Warlock. 8 days! There's no reason why anyone who's played as much as me shouldn't be level 30. Finally, Iron Banner offers the option to grind your way to the top. Even if you suck at PVP, you can get to rank 5 if you put in the time. So I'm very happy about this, because I'm tired of raiding. Plus if you look at the photos, the aesthetic of the iron banner gear is WAY better than the raid stuff. Articulate as the raid is, it's not fun. It makes people desperate. It makes people want to cheat. That's why everyone has been knocking bosses off. I understand that people with great teams run train through there. I've been with a team like that on normal, and it does make it much more enjoyable. But overall, it's not good. I could say a lot more, but I'll leave it at that for now. Yay for Iron Banner gear.

It should be something attainable by everyone through EXP. Gear should then expand upon those levels, making you stronger, but not a higher level. They basically make reaching level 30 the reward for raids, and now an equal set of gear will be given out through an event. Let me say that again, for emphasis. [b]The reward for the hardest PvE content will now be attainable by participating (only have to win 1 match to redeem all your loss tokens) in a PvP event.[/b] Wouldn't you be pissed that you put all that time and effort into raiding and slowly reaping the rewards, sometimes finding no gear after multiple runs, only to have that same reward be handed out later, through a MUCH easier medium? Light was an asinine idea. EXP level cap should be 30, and gear should expand upon your strength in some other way.

I don't think this is a good idea but at least all you PvP ONLY noobs still won't be able to reach 30. You'll also have to do still do the raid on hard to get the helm which will require some knowledge. I don't think finding 5 other people that can fulfill their roles properly should give the same stat gear as PvP. Especially since gear doesn't even matter unless its the occasional iron banner. It lasts a short amount of time. Too short to reward 30 light gear. 30 lock.

7 RepliesPvP isn't a good way to hit 30. The raid is much more enjoyable, entertaining, and involves teamwork. I completed the vault for my first time yesterday, and I got Patience and Time Exotic Sniper, and Atheon's Epilogue Legendary Auto-Rifle. The VoG is much more rewarding. Keep rejoicing while you can-- Crota's End raid will effectively raise the level cap and the PvE'er and raiders will be ready. How about yourselves?

4 RepliesIf one of the Iron Banner items isn't a helmet, then the level 30 gear from the event is worthless. Realistically, helmets and boots are what we need. There aren't exotic boots, so we need more than one source for them. The fact that the helmet is locked away in hard mode reduces its usefulness tremendously. I'm sick of needing to use an exotic helm and not being able to use other, more interesting, and potentially more useful armor pieces because my level will suffer for it. Because of the way light was made the primary stat in this game, it's rarely, if ever, worth it to drop down a level in favor of other perks.

I think its fare because the amount of people I've seen saying they've completed the vog multiple times and not got any armour needs to be balanced out. I was lucky last night to get a raid chest plate on only my third go, and that was without beating the final boss. Of course some people will complain but I details it still won't be that easy in the iron banner.

3 RepliesNone of this will matter If the two peices of Iron banner armor available are not the ones you need to be level 30. For example If I need the -blam!-ing raid boots and iron banner only has a helm and gauntlets

2 RepliesYea you need 4 pieces of gear that get up to 30 light. So with the 2 from iron banner and one exotic that'll still leave you needing one piece of raid gear...seems stupid but whatever
