Destiny stats are like who's line is it anyway.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. Now why is that? You say that every point makes a difference, but so far as I've seen it really doesn't. I recall, as I was leveling my first character, coming across a couple of hallowed knights underneath the cosmodrome on earth that were labeled as ?? For their level. This isn't an uncommon occurrence in MMO's. I engaged the targets and as expected they were both immune to my shots and incredibly strong. This painted an image of the greatness that was to come. Much to my disappointment, the greatness has so far been a bit mediocre. I won't go so far as to say that my level and stats make no difference at all, but it's not much. When shooting dreg my level or twenty levels lower it takes the same amount of shots to kill them, (don't quote me on these exact figures now, I'm not sitting in front of my console while writing this) but the lower level dreg takes roughly 80 damage per bullet, whereas the higher level takes about 200 damage per bullet. Explain to me how that makes any -blam!-ing sense? Low level npc should be cowering in fear and swirling along with the dust under my cloak as I sprint by. I should never have to let my armor recover from red while doing patrols on earth. bungie, your stats are worthless. It leaves little to no incentive to getting better gear or upgrading what I've got. I want to hit harder and survive longer. I feel like I'm wearing a wet paper bag shooting spitwads at a tank! I want to know what my damage output is going to be. I want to see how much damage I've done in an instance so I can see how effective I am as a raider. Every exotic's end cap for "attack" is 300 but that is no reflection of the damage it's going to do per shot. And that is bullshit to me. Also, what's with the arbitrary description for what armor/defence does? Reduces the amount of damage you take. Well no shit, but by how much? I want to know wether I should use a piece of armor with more strength or more defense. When choosing weapons and armor I take stats into consideration and decide based on what I need. In short, if I am to continue playing this game, I need some better stat explanation at the least and want some stat improvement. Paired with a very flat story (I mean come on! Give us some dialogue options and computer terminals to read! -blam!-!) You've succeeded at making a two dimensional game in a three dimensional setting and to me that is just piss poor.

  • That being said, I'd also like to say that y'all have made a very fun and enjoyable game. The game play, art and mechanics are spectacular and I'm sure there is a ton of content planned for the future. I love how the game is constantly evolving through both planned content and hot fixes. It's really an interesting tapestry to watch unfurl.
