Are You Employed!? *cue riff*

What's your occupation? Salary or wage? Earnings per year? (gross and net) Do you have a retirement plan? If so, what? How did you get your job? (I work at a rock quarry as a maintenance worker. Normally make $18ish an hour. It's a part time, however and I'm currently laid off. Company offers a 401k and a 4% match. Might start a Roth IRA and try to max it out)

  • Blind Assembly Operator at Horiso, Marrickville, $21 per hour ($40,000 AUS after tax) I don't have a retirement plan but I just hope I'll at least be able to afford attractive 18 - 35 year old Turkish escorts with a D cup rack or larger on a monthly basis.

    • What's your occupation? AB Hernandez, a student in Tech School. Salary or wage? Celery. Earnings per year? (gross and net) Like, my net is about $15,000/yr as an E-1, that is very rough math. Do you have a retirement plan? If so, what? TSP. Thrift Savings Plan. Plus a separate savings account. How did you get your job? I thought I was getting on a plane to the Bahamas and after that a short bus ride found me at BMT.

    • IT, system administrator. $60/hour No college education. Started out doing basic helpdesk for a company, eventually most of the people quit and I was left alone to manage all the servers and network. Learned a lot about Linux and windows servers, active directory, IOS(Cisco not apple.). When I got laid off in 2008 I used the spare time and unemployment benefits to get my MCSE which really helped launch me into my current job. I'm age 30 and my goal was to make 100k/year by the time I was 30 and have far exceeded that. For retirement my dad gave me a Roth IRA at age 20 and have been putting money in it ever since. Currently invested in fortune 500 but I think I am going to move it into or split it between state bonds. I don't like the idea of my retirement being dependent on a bunch of private companies doing well, especially after seeing what happened in '08

        • For the time being I work at a factory. The top Provider of gas and water works valves in the US. Got the job through a local temp agency. I make high pressure gas ball valves. $13 an hour, plus overtime on the Saturdays. I pay into my 401k that I started 2 years ago at the age of 20. I'm a full timer and still going to college. All in all not a bad start in life seeing as I pay into my 401k handsomely. Once I have my degree in mechanical drafting I'm hoping to improve the outlook of my future drastically.
