A story of three Guardians

Hey, massive fan of Bungie, Destiny and all the Halo games so i thought I'd have a go at writing a short story. Please comment and let me know if you like it, if i get good feedback ill carry on :) The Dark Gate Brilliant and precious light cast long shadows over the red planets horizon as the great sun gave way to the shimmering black night. Lying in the arms of a great white tree, a sleek, hooded figure stared into the distant space, her piercing blue eyes transfixed on the sea of shadows about to engulf them. This is what they were waiting for. Patiently they waited, poised, focused. She rested her eyes, playing the words of the speaker continuously in her mind. What they were here for, on this distant crimson world, had the hope of all that was left on their shoulders. "You are tasked on this day to carry out the will of the Traveler. The light that we so desperately fight for is pushing back the darkness, yet the darkness is unrelenting and shall not be overcome. You are the hope that we hold onto, you three brave Guardians must pierce through the shadows surrounding us. I fear eternal night shall befall us if you fail". Through the dense undergrowth, expressionless deep red eyes travelled. The hulking mechanical figure moved through the gnarled, knotted forest with silent, stalking grace. Her eyes opened, feeling the cold air glance off her skin. Their eyes met as her hand moved swiftly to her firearm. Smooth golden plated steel rested beneath her skin as she pulled the barrel up to meet its cold stare. "The last word burns with desire ma'am, but its best you train it on the darkness we are about to face and not your own". "It’s all this waiting Alpha, the devil makes work for idle hands. Anyway, it’s time we move". Grabbing the great trunk of the tree, she bounded down to the soft blanket of leaves below, her regal hunter cloak rippling behind. Mounting up on their sparrows, both human and machine bound through the black forest leaving a trail of arching light as they went. "Kaal is waiting for us ma'am, he has scouted the entrance, our best chance at this is now. The darkness is moving, we will evoke the will of the Traveler and cast them out". "You make it sound so easy Alph". A clearing in the deep forest gaves way to a black crater, lined with fierce jagged rocks and iridescent white light. The pair stood, battle worn, yet poised. A blue shimmering aura enveloped him as he walks, proud and unyielding. Hard light sat in the Awokens gloved hands, sight trained on the dark gated door built into the rock below. He saw her eyes smile at him as he joined them on the edge of darkness. "We are ready" she stated, eyes piercing through her visor, trained on the looming door that was about to be breached. The Exo hulked forward, pulling the vicious gold weapon of light from his back. Mounting it on his shoulder, the Gjallarhorn stared at the gated hive entrance. "Our light will make a stand here ma'am, the Traveler will watch over us". "If we fail, the Traveler will be no more" Kaal stated. "Always can rely on the Awoken to speak the cold truth" Siaan smirked back as she lifted her hand cannon to the gate. "Let’s shine some light Alph". Siaan nodded to the Exo before bounding forward, golden cape thrashing behind her as Kaal exploded into the sky above. Steel cold fingers filled with light tightened their grip on the great weapon as the trigger was released. Gjallarhorn roared as fiery white energy arced along the expanse and crashed like a brilliant destructive wave on the hive gate. An overwhelming screech cut through the rubble left behind as cursed white demons flooded from the entrance. A sea of bullets met them as the fire team closed the gap between light and dark. Brilliant chaos rained down from above as Kaal unleashed a barrage of light. Hive scattered to avoid the destruction that was upon them only to be faced with angry bullets. The entrance suddenly quelled and silence filled the air. The three guardians stood side by side, glowing with light. Siaan's cold blue eyes were transfixed once more on the darkness facing them. A deep, demonic roar rumbled from the very depths and the planet shuddered. The hunter pulled her arm above her, snapping the hand cannon up to the stars. Brilliant golden light crackled and bolted through the guardian as it engulfed her firearm. Siaan took one last look at the Exo and Awoken that have stood unwavering by her side, bound by light. Stepping forward, she plunged into dark. By ChiefExo
