Since the hotfix the distribution of engram's has been bs. I'm still half thru the exotic bounty for fusion rifles and haven't had a single blue (or better) fusion rifle since. I know people are crying over not getting any purples dropping in games but I've had two this week, unfortunately they got turned into materials and not the pulse/sniper rifles that I had hoped for. Of the last 100 odd blues that have dropped, I've gotten the spaceship twice and (counted) 35 gauntlets. Not one single blue engram fusion rifle, so WTF with the ratio. its like there's a loot algorithm that sees what you need and then does the complete f#$king opposite just to squezze you for something to do before the dlc hits in Dec. Just fix the item distribution ratio and I'll forgive you for selling me only a third of the game.

I had the exact same thing happen to me when I was doing that exotic bounty. I could not get a blue fusion rifle from an engram at all, ended up buying 6 of them from the gunsmith. :-P

I don't have this bounty yet, but I already have 11 blue fusion rifles gathering dust in my vault and they have been for weeks. As soon as I heard about the exotic bounty I started saving them. (Before I even knew what the bounty was for.) Because I knew this exact thing would be a problem for me, And I know RNGesus hates me.

This is what happens when people complain......they said okay we will guarantee your legendaries turn legendary......you just will only see one legendary a month
-
you just need to wait for the smith to sell them you can check on here with what the vendors are selling if you are not on your console at the time
-
Just keep checking the weapon smith he will sell blue fusion rifles

Edited by spaceme17: 10/24/2014 12:04:31 PMI am starting to think that there is indeed some sort of inverse smart loot system as I have noticed the same thing. I currently need many more Ascendent Energy than Ascendent Shards and all I seem to keep getting is the shards. I have also noticed that I get a lot more useless to me blue armor engrams since I fully upgraded my legendary armor and now do not need blue armor engrams. It would not surprise me if a reverse-loot system algorithm is in play so that it will artificially extend the amount of time people play. It would make sense. Since Destiny does not have enough content to keep people playing the only other way to do that is to give false hope of loot and feed on people's desire for that next better item. Essentially, we are horses being led around by a carrot dangled on a stick in front of us that we can never reach. Well, i am tired of it. I will probably play some this weekend but after that I think I am quitting for good. I may pick it up again if Bungie makes some massive changes for the better, but given Bungies track record since release, I don't see that happening.

Here's another example of what's broken with rewards/engrams. Got my Cryptarch up to level 19 the day before yesterday. I was given 2 leg engrams from the postmaster. Reached level 20 thinking my reward would be significantly better or maybe just as good. Received 2 rare engrams from the postmaster

Really I've had loads! But i was smart, as soon as I heard about this bounty I started collecting them ready for when I get it.
