Credit to the guy that found this though I've forgotten his name.
I hadn't been able to get past the login screen for 2 days with the zebra error coming up every time.
The solution is to give your Xbox one a hard restart. Hold the power button for thirty seconds or so. You will hear the hard drive making noises. When the noises stop, turn the Xbox on again and destiny works fine. I don't know why this works but it does, I've had no trouble since.
Hope this helps a few of you that were stuck in the same situation as me.
