Thorn Bounty is a load of shit. How can you do it as a Hunter?
Before reading, please note that there will be fowl language. You've been warned.
Ok, so I recently got the Thorn Bounty on my Hunter class... We can all see where this is going. The Crucible section of this bounty is the biggest pile of shit if you don't have a void sub-class or any good void weapons. I've got a Void Sniper and a Void Assault Rifle. Seeing as Assault rifles have recently been nerfed, the thing's pretty much useless because of it's already low damage rate (considering I'm shooting the head not the body). The sniper is also difficult to use because there are no good spots on any map to really shoot from. And I haven't got any heavy void weapons. I'd be completely fine with this bounty if it weren't for the 2 point penalty upon dying. For some, that's probably fine, but I generally have a k/d ratio of around 0.47 so essentially, I take 1 step forward 2 steps back. This bounty is just plain unfair for those who aren't any good at Crucible or don't have good Void weapons. It's just plain stupid. I've read all different strategies and tried a bunch of them, but I keep getting thrown in games with spastic shotgunners, supreme snipers, maniac machine-gunners, assault-rifle wielding psychopaths and pyromaniacs with rocket launchers who just beat me to a bloody pulp. Seriously Bungie, how the -blam!- do I do this? I know I'm having a rant, but this part of the game's made me rage harder than playing Ninja Gaiden, and that was a bitch to beat.

Got the Thorn quest at midnight yesterday. Finished the entire quest just in under 4 hours. My tactics regarding the Void Crucible kills were to use a high impact Void Fusion Rifle & of course, spamming those lovely grenades that Nightstalkers have. And Quiver, obviously. I personally though preferred & mostly used the invisible Bladedancer build to sneak up on other Guardians without them detecting me on their radar and blasting them off like Team Rocket. I recently managed it on my level30 hunter I used a void fusion rifle, and a void rocket launcher.

I suck at crucible I average like 10 Lille to 15 death ratio and I figured out how to finish that part of the thorn bounty in like an hour and a half. Message me for help

I did it on hunter with crotas word and sword breaker took a while but got it

Word of crota, epilogue, corrective measure, plug one, take your pick. Just level up a faction and buy a void from them if u can't do VOG or CE

Did it with a rare void shotgun and my truth. Took me no less than an hour to do it.

I have had it done in 3 hours, only using praedyths revenge and corrective measure just have to be a good camper, that's all

Plenty of people have done it on a hunter. And do not complain if you have a void primary. I had one void weapon - a rare shotgun.

Get yourself a void shotty and go to town, as long as you average at least one kill per death, you're good. Just be crafty and fast.

Have 3 thorns, 1 for each character, all obtained through the bounties...so it's really not THAT difficult, just saying...

6 RepliesThe Thorn bounty can be easy. I don't care about KDR unless I'm doing it. Just get yourself a good machine gun or rocket launcher and stay - the -blam!- - back. Don't die. After 20 exotic bounties I FINALLY a got the pocket infinity! I've been saving fusion rifles for a while. Guess what!? The NF is ABSOLTELY the worse NF possible for it. Ugh. Ugh ugh ugh. Gunna wait till Tuesday to finish it.

Ok yeah I agree ninjas gaiden black is a birch to beat lol I mean a lot of people do it with shotgun bc even if you due you still gained like 2 points but I had to do it with a green void sniper bc I'm no good with shotguns lol
