I've struggled to find much value in Ward of Dawn. My limited exposure seems to indicate it causes more harm than good... Let me explain with a few examples and then provide a solution:
1. The guy who runs around, finds you, and places the ward on you then stays. Um, ok, so every time I see this happen I also see both players come out of the protection field ideally locating 2 targets in 1 spot for the big boss to kill with 1 bomb. I'd rather not...
2. When I use it I typically need to run away and hide, but end up seeing mobs of bad guys passing through it on their way to kill me.
I propose a grenade option allowing for ward of dawn to be placed as a trip mine. This would make it useful, powerful and yet still balanced since you have to sacrifice your damage grenade. You could throw them ahead of a team mate who's in trouble when they're running away. You could also strategically place them at a fallback point. Timer and cool-down could be adjusted to make sure it's balanced.
I don't play PvP much so I can't say how useful this may be in the crucible.
