The secret behind the trailer.

Not only did the MCC-H5 trailer hold significance to lore, it also was an allegory for the position we find ourselves in. Watch the trailer again. Imagine that Master Chief represents true Halo. The Arbiter represents the collective fanbase. Agent Locke represents the multiplayer developers. "To find him, you have to forget the stories. Forget the legends." The developers have to look past the multiplayer they tried so hard to fit into the lore. "You have to do more than walk in his footsteps." The developers must make more than a good campaign. "For he is more than the sum of his actions." Master Chief just isn't the fictional hero he was made to be. He is the icon of good multiplayer. "I tell you this not because I trust you, Agent Locke." The fanbase sure as hell didn't trust 343i after Halo 4. "But because all our lives are at stake." Halo's reputation as a competitive shooter is on the line. "Because the seeds of our future...are sown in his past." The key to a successful future Halo title lies in the reasons why the original trilogy succeeded so well.
