How can anyone justify Shoulder Charge?
Why was this even put into the game? An instant kill charge that tracks your target? And it hasn't been patched? What the hell. And no cooldown to boot?
A hunter knife takes aim, has a long animation, and doesn't even one-shot the target; but a Striker gets an instant kill blink for sprinting that's only cooldown is the second it takes to begin sprinting again? Fun stuff.
EDIT: For those that don't understand how easy it is to use and how effective it is, says it doesn't auto track, jump to avoid, and so forth:

How can anyone defend this? I don't know, but several hundred idiots are. This video isn't even in optimal conditions (corridors found in every map in Rumble).

Any shotgun or fusion can instakill it and hunters and warlocks have WAY better melee and blink there justified

How do you justify a hunters insta lock on with the blade-dancer super at close range, their long range instant kills that they can use over an extended period of time? It compensates for other the other classes more effective supers. The titans supers are only good for one time close range engagements. The shoulder charge gives them an advantage they otherwise wouldn't have.

1 ReplyWith the upcoming nerfs, it's apparent that Destiny only listens to whiney Crucible players who can't quickly switch to their shotguns and blast a shoulder charge dependant Titan in the face-- Rinse and Repeat, till the shoulder charge is no longer a viable strategy-- Meanwhile my guns become useless because of a litany of crybaby post. Bungie only creates patches for Crucible synergy, and creates special events for Crucible like content, because no matter how broke the raids are, no matter how absent the story is, or the variation in PVE content is; Cowboys and Indians will never get old and will keep the game alive for their 10 year goal.

I use it a lot whenever I play a titan more for transportation than anything. It is a nice ability if you mess up a jump and get that nice little lunge through a window. I cannot lie it does get used if it is up and somebody is within melee range, but was makes me laugh are the titans that seem to rely entirely on shoulder charge. I have been chased after for what seemed like forever just so the titan can get the shoulder charge off, and I have even killed them while they charged at me from a distance while being shot at just to get a melee kill... I will admit it does seem OP at times, but after I made my titan I realized it isn't always as easy to use as people make it out to be. You do have to get it within the time shoulder charge is active, so in many cases it is premeditated that you are going to kill somebody with it. I end up using it a lot when I am attempting melee bounties or first blood. Then again I rarely use my titan in PVP... I prefer my hunter or my warlock to be honest.

Played a bunch of matches last night with different peeps and nothing but Titans literally running around and shoulder charging people not even firing a shot. One guy just ran the map and shoulder charged over and over. I could understand it dropping your shield completely like blink strike but it's ridiculous shit has to go. And before everyone starts complaining and saying I'm hating I kill mofo's so I get mine but the fact is its -blam!-ing stupid. No melee should one hit fix that shit across the board.

All those players are bad. I never get hit by shoulder charge. Unless they are red laggy as hell. Seriously look at the damn radar. Dont run into a room without checking corners. and for f's sake LOOK AT THE DAMN RADAR. And switch to your damn secondary. and stand back and one shot that scrub titan.

So I just started using it as I just got my titan a few days ago. I found it is not like these videos. It's not that easy and the auto locking isn't true. I've narrowly missed guys practically right in front of me. Now I hate being killed by it, but now that I have it, I'm not so mad.

3 RepliesI once saw a Titan Take out a Blade Dancer and nova booming Warlock in one fist of Havoc. The extended little front thing killed the Warlock. Keep in mind I was shooting him the entire time. He then turns words me, full on sprints and shoulder charged me. (I have no -blam!-ing idea how he did not die) he then proceeded to take a zone all by himself and shoulder charges the next guy that goes in to stop him. Can't say any other class could do that. If a blade dancer, gun slinger, nova boomer or sunsinger had attacked us three, with supers, (only one player not all at once) had walked in, he would not have walked out of that room Alice

Make a Titan; use it yourself. You'll see how many times you get shotgunned or team shot because you overcommit with it. Most of the time you have to run around a corner to activate it in time, blindly sprinting at a red zone on your radar, hoping that it's only one dude who isn't paying attention. It's fun if used correctly. But easily countered.

Shout out to caps locks, that guy is a debate coaching master. Also it's about balancing all the guardian skills instead of balancing them one to one across the classes. I don't want all the classes playing exactly the same to ensure the game is perfectly balanced. And it's been said before, but I doubt you listened the first hundred or so times. If it really perturbs you, bring a shotgun, you'll kill a shoulder charging titan with minimal problem. Too stubborn to bring a shotgun? He would have killed you at that range with a shotgun in far less badass of a manner.

I get shot gunned in the face half the time I use it. Keeps me humble. Props to opponents who stay calm and d-rez me as I'm coming in. BTW you can still steer it. A good Titan might make it look like auto tracking.

Make a titan. Level up your titan. Shoulder charge others in crucible. You'll fall in love with that attack.
