Words of a titan that used a Hunter

To everyone claiming that Hunters are OP in pvp well i have to tell you that I that i main a titan, but i made a Hunter because I got an exotic for it so i went into pvp and guess what? i just felt like i was a little ant. I was killed so many times while super was active, rockets, shotguns, fusion rifles, other supers. The melee? Well i am a titan, i 1 hit kill with my shoulder charge, but the Hunters? Man it does takes skill to kill with it. Grenades? I cant kill anything with them, unless they got half life left. While there is indeed stuff that can be changed like the time hunter's supers can be active to be a bit less long,I mean c'mon i can just activate it and then travel along the map and then BOOM 1-3 kills. BladeDancer has way to much damage reduction? Lies. I could tell you about PvE ... But i won't. So yeah every class has some op stuff but then again the classes counter each other. I have no problem with anything actually i just felt like sharing my opinion. So do you think Hunters are op? Why? i would like to know of different point of views. K thanks for reading, you can have a cookie. *Edit* Wow i didnt tought a lot of people would pass by to say something, thanks btw. MORE COOKIES FOR EVERYONE! *Edit:2* More than 500 posts?! Well i didnt thought i would make such thing. Thanks everyone, i saw a lot of people saying how everything is good and many nice stuff here, it is nice to see good people saying their own opinions. #FaithInGuardiansRestored Okay I think that everyone here agrees with the next phrase... "The Class does not make the player, the player makes the class"

  • Hunters have a higher skill cap and skill floor than the other two classes. It allows them to be the dominant class in the hands of a highly skilled player

    • I main Titan and Hunter. They are both fun but extremely different classes. Titan(striker): Deals with head on collision. I shoulder charge you. Not in shoulder charge range than my AR /fusion is going to lay waste to your face. Fusion rifle for mid range and corridor control. AR for mid/long range. I have all my bases covered. You get close expect a shoulder charge or a punch to the dome. I sprint and shoulder charge everywhere I go to close the distance as quickly as possible. B line to the front lines and lay waste to the enemy. Hunter(Invisible blade dancer): The reason I run invisibility is because it is the major advantage that is given to us hunters. Unlike my Titan who goes shoulder first into every fight, or a warlock who gets an over shield from punching; my hunter is one of patience and tactical understanding of my enemies position. In every encounter if I am not flanking my target or have positional advantage than I deserve to lose that fight, even though I usually don't. My trusty Last Word lets me dominate close/mid range. If I use my invisibility correctly I will avoid most shotgun encounters because I will avoid that range at all costs. I will than pull out my trusty sniper to control choke points from a distance, or again go invisible to flank my opponents. Unlike the Titan I have to stop, take a knee, go invisible and assess my radar before I go into any encounter. In essence patience, time, and tactical heaven. I will be rolling warlock this weekend with my universal remote. I will shotgun/melee over shield all things. With voidfang vestments I will be double grenade spam all things into madness which is going to be ridiculously enjoyable. Each class has been well developed and have there own nuances to differentiate them from each other. The fact that I have to change my style of play based on my class for PvP has been truly enjoyable, but at the end of the day this is a FPS. The better your aim/twitch is the better player you are. Abilities/supers/weapon preferences allow you to choose how to dominate. These choices don't make you dominate. I look forward to any comments as this is my first bungie.net forum post. I look forward to facing you in the Crucible Guardians, and good luck. You will need it if you face me. Expect a good knee charge to the dome or being shot from behind by my last word. Cheers guardians

they're all balanced IMO, people just play bad and don't play smart, so when they are killed by a legitimately better player they get butthurt. that better player could be playing any class

      • I've played 72+ hours on each class, and they are all very well balanced.

      • Playing a half hour on a hunter when you've probably put in 100x that amount on a titan doesn't suddenly make you an authority on class balance. There's a period with any new class where you have to adapt to its strengths and weaknesses. If you're running around in golden gun dying to every single thing that moves, then obviously you have a lot of learning left to go.

      • It all depends on how you play. This is also coming from an original Titan. I've made a few nice PvP clips on Xbox One as my new Hunter. Trip mine grenades work very well, as long as you place them strategically. Golden gun is not hard to use as long as you 'expect the unexpected,' and use it when you know there are multiple enemies near by, and throwing knives are situational and should be saved for specific encounters. Basically, I'm saying you need to adapt to a certain play style as a Hunter. Even as any class and subclass. That's why there are choices. I've found that I'm a way better PvP player as a Hunter than any other class. I feel that being a Hunter has given me a new view on survivability, which in turn, caused me to adapt my play style.

      • As a 3 character player with one of each. Hunter supers and grenades are amazing.

      • As a main hunter who now plays mostly titan I can agree. Damage reduction sucks with the specials, and hunters can get killed pretty easy anyway

        • Great point. I've always been of the opinion that you need to play the class to criticize it. On a side note, I looked at your characters, and they're pretty similar to mine. Right down to the Saint-14. Are you copying me?

        • First off let me say that I play a hunter and I've played a warlock. The hunter is underpowered compared to the warlock and Titan! Warlock have a grenade that will literally track and pretty much kill you because you have to run away or take the hit and get shot at either way. There super can kill and stay there forever. Melae don't even get started with the -blam!-ing shields. Titans have one shot grenades and -blam!-ing shoulder charge. There supers are ehhh but still effective Hunters have one one shot grenade and it is a trip mine that can be countered by jumping.our supers give us no shield and we can die pretty easy. Golden gun is good but blade dancer is op ish in the since that no one is outrunning it. There ay go hunters got the short end of the stick

        • Let me explain hunters and make all your arguments invalid. First I'll talk about the GG super -Hunters golden gun has 3 (4) shots. -No auto aim ( you have to aim ) -Activation time is frigging brutal -you do not get a shield when activated but it's balanced out so you get a longer duration of that super but yet again only 3-4 shots then done. ^ you figure out the pros and cons it doesn't take a genius. blade dancer. Blade dancer is garbage regardless, but here. Now to speak about blade dancer - 1-2 hit kills - have to be in melee range - can die easily aswell - duration is pretty long - garbage. btw throwing knife is not one shot kill like the other 2 characters are ( not complaining ) and takes precision to even damage the opponent our grenades do not kill shit one hit. ------- warlocks void walker - aoe effect - one fast duration - semi shielded as doing the super - one chance to get a kill ( a very big chance cuz of aoe if timed properly ) sunsinger -self res ( not only that your shielded ) - duration is crazy long - spam 1 shot grenade kills everywhere - tank. melee is one shot and you get a shield, Titan Striker -aoe effect -shielded during super -one quick duration defender -whatever bubble you are using it has a very long duration - shielded in the bubble + another shield on top of health bar. Literally a tank. Melee is one hit for both. you cannot compare different characters abilities. If the player is good he is good. Stop complaining and play the class you like, if not stay away from pvp because you suck. - pro hunter

            • Hunters are NOT op. Nothing is OP every thing is balanced out. Hunters have a strong ability due to them lacking armor so they make up from there ability people just needa quit whining all together

            • I agree with the arc blade damage resistance. I mean, it is not a super if it only takes 2 shotgun shots or 2 fusion rifle blasts to still kill them.

A skilled hunter will beat a skilled titan. Hunter is the dominant class in pvp

              • The problem with BOTH their supers is that they last too long. Supers should be used in a sense of urgency, not "hey there's some dudes on the flag, better slap on my 1 shot thingy". A hunter can activate arc blade AND golden gun and have it last very long. You almost never run out of time with golden gun. And the Titan and warlock supers are very situational. Best used when you can line up a group of people, which rarely ever happens. With arc blade/ golden gun, you can spread you kill radius literally across the map. And has no one realized that you can fly with blade dancer? Because you can. Because the lung is -blam!-ing ridiculous and it lasts too long

                • last statement is so true, hunters get supers, and what else? they get -blam!-ing shot down waving the gun around for ten seconds before they can do shit to anybody, and the second they activate it and die they don't get it back, whereas the other classes do. hunters need a huge buff, the supers that are impossible to use without dying are bs to make up for everything else being shit
