Universal Remote
So maybe it's just me, but a while back I got the Universal Remote, an exotic primary shotgun, and I was wicked excited. When I first starting playing with the gun I noticed it seemed to be rather lacking for an exotic. At first I attributed this to the fact that I hadn't gotten most of the upgrades that made it an exotic weapon. However, after having played with this weapon for several weeks, poured countless experience into it and upgraded it fully, I cannot help but feel that this gun isn't that good. It says it's supposed to have more range when aiming, but honestly I'm not certain I've even noticed. Not to mention it takes a ridiculously long time to fire between shots. Am I the only one who thinks this gun needs a buff?

To the untrained eye, this beast is a junker, however, to the trained eye, this junker is a beast.

I only used it until I got something better. If minotaurs had a crit point it would be great for praetorians, (despite the shotgun stigma in the vault) but as it is it's definitely not my go-to.

I've just upgraded mine and played with it a bit. The range gets a boost, it's definitely not a sniper but it's also much farther than id ever use a shotgun from. The precision damage gets a pretty big boost too. If you hit the head you'll take them down

Facing it, I've noticed it still has a ridiculous OHK range, compared to the secondary I use that now can't even kill someone with its barrel down their throat. I had one match where I'd be one-shotted from across the hallway in Firebase Delphi, but couldn't pull off the same with a different shotgun standing toe to toe. Had to resort to Melee if they didn't turn around and blow my head off first.

Hello there Guardian, i have this beast of a gun almost fully upgraded and i can tell you this weapon is perfectelly balanced for a primary shotgun. I am destroying people in crucible with it and one shooting most of aliens, so dont worry if you dont feel your gun powerfull yet you only need to practice and upgrade it to see his full potential on the battlefield. Ah i am using it on my titan so you have to love going in melee style if you want to be good with it. Peace.

2 RepliesI think it needs a little boost to the range but only because its unique perk says it's supposed to when aiming. I don't really feel that there's much of an increase in range. I will say that it helps if you kick your aim sensitivity up to 9 [What I use] or 10 so you can quickly turn in tight spaces. If Bungie nerfs the range on Universal when they nerf the rest of the shotguns then they'll have a riot because what's the point of having a primary shotgun after that?
