I love shotguns in the crucible. When i found out about the universal remote was very exited to get one. Well i got one. Its special skill is that when you zoom in, the range on the weapon increases significantly. It seems to me that the nerf hammer forgot that this shotgun is an exotic shotgun used as a primary. After testing this weapon in the crucible (all skills unlocked btw) i discovered that my rare auto shotgun has longer range than the universal remote. I believe the skill was completely nullified after the nerf. As a result, this exotic weapon has become no better than a mediocre uncommon shotgun. Was this an oversight in the coding or was it intended. Bungie would you please clarify. I understand that not enough people are talking about this weapon, prob because so few have it or because the few that have are not the cry babies of the game (p.s im not crying about it, i just think its wrong that this weapon is now just as bad a yellow shotgun with no special attributes). PS im not complaining about the range nerf for normal shotguns because im usually in my opponent's face when i use it.

I've actually had it before the update and it's range was still shit compared to a lot of stock blue shotties. I was seriously disappointed because I was under the impression that the universal remote with the universal remote unlock, was supposed to push the range almost as far as a scout rifle like shooting slug rounds. Instead, I got a gun that you have to be within 5-10 feet to hit something and usually that's only 9 damage x3. I have a green shotgun that does better than that!

Edited by EeJeigh: 11/15/2014 11:24:08 PMIf that rare shot gun you have is the sidewinder mk.53 that should be understandable it's impact and range is ridiculous for a blue. But compared to other shotguns, the universal remote is pretty good. You have to have a play style that is suited to the gun. Fight gun fights you know you can win. (I know that's kind of vague but it's the advice I have for you)

Every bit of canon lore written about the gun suggests precision rifle/scout rifle range. Aiming down the sight increases the range by about a foot. Either the lore needs to be rewritten, or the gun needs to be fixed.

Its not a gun for all gametypes. You want Universal remote on Skirmish or Salvage. Something where you have the enemy come to you. It needs 2 of the 3 following things. Increased, Range (at least when ADS) Increased Clip (at least 8 rounds) Increased Fire Rate (at least double) With out 2 of those 3 things. It is useless in Control and Clash matches

Wow all the hate for it here is surprising. I just starting using it in pvp and I'm having a...wait for it... blast. It feels like the buckshot from it has a lot more "umph" and puts a better coating on your victim. I like it and have used it for mess around crucible games. Seems to be a fun weapon. I might be in a different universe though so....meh

Just wait for the exotic updates

I notice no range nor precision (which i though would mean tighter spread?) while ADS with this exotic (fully leveled). I think there might be a bug with the perk. Ide appreciate at least some degree of response from debs saying "this is intended" or "this is a bug, we are now aware of it"

I got this yesterday. It was my first exotic drop ever. At least now I know not to bother upgrading it. I don't even like shotguns anyways.

Yes. The universal remote sadly is awful. Just got it in VoG last week. Was excited to run shotty sniper until I used it.
-
I got the universal remote from the postmaster and dismantled it 1 day later lmao. Its terrible

Razgriz are you doc shannon?.

It's e feckin primary... I wreck with it because I can roll with shotty snipes.... That's the biggest perk to this weapon!!

The universal remote has actually always been a little sub par compared to other shotguns.... Even back before the nerf legendary and the invective pretty much out slayed it on every level. The fun part is you can run a fusion riffle to and cheese everyone at almost every range.

Bumpity bump bump.

Hell yes I hate this gun, any other shotgun I use has better range in both pve and pvp. I'm tempted to just break it up for energies
-
You see this is what happens when bungievison listens to the pvp community.

I used the universal remote a lot before the update it was by far my favourite weapon for pvp and pve now it's gathering dust in the vault just a waste of an inventory slot it could easily disperse of all the smaller enemies in 1 shot at about 10 15 metres now it barely takes a quarter of their life bar with the nerf they should of made it a special or have it as an exception to the rule but hey at least I've got some ascendant energy in the bank

I still find it effective. My tip for this weapon is to jump in the air and aim down on your targets head. Usually a one shot for me

Edited by Demon: 10/20/2014 9:07:08 AMI have two universal remotes one for my two characters and they both work fine sure i can tell that the range slightly increased when firing without aiming in but it isn't much of a problem since i still get 20+, 30+ and 40+ regardless.
