I Have a Question for Bungie - Would you like to see them use polls to determine updates?
I have decided from much of the feedback I've received that it's wise to leave this idea on the back burner (or the shelf, if you will), for now. I think Bungie can benefit from polls on only specific updates, but I also believe that this community is not ready to have a successful run in polling updates. This game is in the early stages, and I think the Devs should be handling everything, not us. I do, however believe we should still voice our opinions, and I hope that Bungie listens, and re-evaluates their communication between us and the developers. Maybe somewhere further down the road I believe this community will be ready for polls on updates, which could potentially produce some awesome results, but not now. If someone could please delete or close this thread, that would be awesome.

I say No to voting determining updates. Looking at the current situation with the community regarding Vault Items for example it would practically ruin the game. Before anything like this is to be implemented the game needs room to grow first unless you want to chop the roots off a playerbase down? according to what we heard bungie is listening..

2 RepliesUpdate can only be at 75%? That would be bad in this game. Since Bungie wants to balance things. If they did do the polling, there would be no Vex Mythocast nerf, as the PvP population would want to stay OP with it. Just an example, or let's say the upcoming Suros patch, it wouldn't go through because majority has it and they wouldn't want it to be nerfed. All in all, polling itself should be nerfed.

I don't trust the majority of this community to take this game in a halfway decent, let alone good, direction. Sorry, but the average person without the faintest idea of how game mechanics work should not have a say in how this game is being developed. Yes, Bungie should listen to us, but we should not be in control. That said, it's not a bad idea, but in practice it simply wouldn't work here.

3 RepliesSo I guess authors and writers and actors should start polling their audiences too? The problem with this idea is even if it does work, it kinda shouldn't. Bungie is under no obligation to please everyone. Their only obligation is to make the best game they can. Whether they're succeeding is up to each player to decide. Obviously they make more money if they please more people, but if the audience starts dictating the work of the "artist" (I'm using that term broadly here but hopefully you get my drift) then creative thought and expression stops being creative. The sense of entitlement I see from a lot of players is infuriating. If you don't enjoy it, please stop playing and move on with your life, because whining about this game accomplishes nothing.

Perhaps once the game gets old enough, and the people on here start to mature, we could start that. Until then, the majority will continue to beat on the minority, whether it's moral or not, as long as it furthers their selfish desires.

Oh please anything but that. If there's one thing that I've learned throughout my life, it's that the majority of people are not very intelligent, aren't responsible enough to have free will, and would be way better off if they recognized their own stupidity and immediately died from shame.

1 ReplyThe outcome of polls are determined upon opinions and not actual facts. There are a lot of people on the forum that have an opinion that some things should be fixed that are strictly based on their opinion and have nothing to do with actual bugs or errors. So therefore basing a fix to a game such as this would be heavily biased and opinionated rather than fixing things that actually need to be fixed.

No, everything would be nerfed to the point that we might as well just shout rude things to the opposing team, as it'd be more effective than our weapons.
