Unreachable Loot Chest?
So I was casually patrolling the Cosmodrome looking for Spin Metal when I came across a Loot Chest that neither I nor a fellow Guardian could reach.

The Chest is located in the Steppes Cosmodrome area. Near the spawn going towards the Mothyards there's an entrance to an underground area. When you enter the underground on the right there is a room where 3 Hive Majors (1 Knight and 2 Acolytes LVL 18) Spawn. In the back of that room there is a hole in the wall exposing some Machinery and pipes. On top of that machinery there is a broken pipe(?) where the Loot Chest can spawn. For a good 20 mins me (Hunter) and a Warlock tried to grab it but ultimately we gave up.
If you've gotten this Chest let me know how please :)

This one is doable... I'm stuck on the one which appears under those pipes at the back...

1 ReplyIts a bit of a trick jump but it can be retrieved. Maybe you need to reconfigure your jump mode in your subclass? So you do realize... In all the time taken to get that single chest, get your warlock mate in on it and then post up this thread... you could have moved on to other chests, and made a hell of a lot more profit lol

There's one on the moon that sometimes spawns to the left of the accelerator, or whatever the name is, all the way in the back, it's inside the kill zone. Plenty of time to grab it though.

I've gotten it, it's hard I describe but there are two way to get up there. 1) You can jump from the side an there is a small ledge you can land on then you crouch and walk towards it. 2) I haven't used this to get up but when I used the above way to get up I fell through a hole after getting the chest that you might be able to use to get up.

1 ReplyFound a chest on the moon twice that's just outside the invisible wall... First one you could get to quickly before the "Turn back" counter reached 0, the other one you had to make a jump and before you land near the spot the counter reached 0. It's software, bound to have a bug or two...

Edited by Batz: 10/19/2014 3:47:13 PMI've come across bugged chests, such as the one in the first area on the moon. You can stand next to those and nothing will happen. The "out of reach" chests are rarely actually out of reach though. I've come across a bunch of them in the "ventilation" of the hive basement at the start of old russia and it's possible to simply jump and grab them while being in the air. They're not like mats, where you have to hold down the button for quite some time.

I have had a couple chests and spin metals do this. It's a little annoying but I'm sure it'll get patched soon

There are 2 ways to get it. 1. Jump up towards ledge (from the sewer) and quickly crouch. 2. Stand under chest (directly under). Jump straight up and you will see the collect loot button briefly appear. If you are quick, you can collect the loot on the upward jump.
