• I really want this BUT I think the chat issue would need to be adressed first. Plus a way to display that you have a mic.

    • I'm 38 with a career and a kid. I don't have time to invest in making friends and joining clans. I'm lucky to have one quiet night a week I can unwind and play Destiny. I'm at level 26 and think I'm smart enough to figure out how to play in a cooperative raid. Everything else is starting to get stale for me. So if Bungie can't make this happen I'll be searching for a new game. I've had enought of killing giant eyeballs and the Archon Priest over and over.

      • Lol look at the state of tiger strikes. Yeah let's add matchmaking to the raid. I mean, what could go wrong?

I don't play many games, well online anyway... lately... compared to anyone else, not as much. But doesn't even fighting games have a communication match-making feature? SoulCalibur V does, if I can recall correctly, you can even set a language based search criteria. If communication gets implemented (which they did state one day they'll actually get around to do) then why not? We're not getting tested on finding a group, we're tested on communication, teamwork and of course skill. Having to make a forum is just inconvenient, especially if you just want to get on with the game.

      • I like using the forums a lot more than just completely random matchmaking.

        • Would match making work with the checkpoints? You could get to Atheon with a team then decide to beat him another day. Go back to the raid and be put with another team who are starting from the beginning

        • Raid matchmaking is already here. Think about it, forum topics titled "XBONE RAID HARD MODE" or messages from random strangers on the tower inviting you to a raid group? These are both pseudo matchmaking systems put in place by the community to fill the void between players who have lots of online friends with time and ability and those who, for whatever reason, simply do not. Adding an actual matchmaking function to the raid would be nothing more than cutting out the middle man. There is a harsh barrier between certain players and the raid, and it is not skill based. The only thing that should be preventing people from completing the raid is an inability to complete the presented tasks. This barrier to entry expresses a level of exclusivity that favors extroverted players.

Well, it would get me to play the game again and buy the DLC. My past two times booting up destiny went exactly like this. Get into orbit, pull up destinylfg on my phone. Send message, wait a few.... Do this 3-4 more times. No responses.... 20 minutes have gone by. Turn off ps4, play something on steam. That is exactly what happened the past 2 times I booted it up. The last 3rd time I hadn't beaten the raid yet and was more motivated. I did two hours of spamming to find a group... Anyways, I'm at the point where I just check in on destiny updates/forums every week or so to see if they've added matchmaking. Although if they do add matchmaking, I could easily see myself hitting the lack of content wall. Oh well, I got my monies worth and had a great time. If they add matchmaking by the time new DLC comes out, I'll be all over that shit. Otherwise, I'm done constantly fighting the lack of group finding features. I've been fighting destiny since day 1. Added over a hundred friends to my friends list just so that I could play through the campaign on coop. Gameplay is great but the coopability is abysmal. I hope ubisoft is taking notes. >.<

        • I say its totally needed in some way but its partially not worth adding . The raid is basically and advanced version of a strike anyways just with an objective n teamwork n checkpoints . But matchmaking would make it to you could do it easier with rrandoms like a tiger strike or whatnot but it would also gives those who dont have "friends" or access to the forum team mates n friends but at the Same point the downfall of it all is that everyone would be able to get to level thirty faster than having to wait and find a team and whatnot. And all you need is 6 guys and if you have access to thw forum you won't need matchmaking . Easy peasy so even tho it would be awesome im going to say NO in the end to matchmaking . For the time being

        • I say no. At least not until they add communication with everyone. Although I feel like too many people would drop if they stuggle just a bit in the entrance looking for a new team

        • To put it simply, if players need to go to external websites like LFG, then the system is flawed. As much as you want everyone to pal up, we really need an option to matchmake or find other players to run raids with. Hell, I've had to do it for exotic weapon bounties and it's a pain in the ass. All I want to find is other good players, quickly. Is it that much to ask?

          • I don't think it would work, there would be too many people popping out of the game at first sign of trouble or no mic or whatever. Finding people on destinylfg.com isn't too bad and the people that take the time to post there and put up their stats are at least invested in trying to get through it. If you make it super easy to just launch into vog then people will likely launch right out of it like they do with tiger strike.

No. I find it hard to believe that 6 randoms are willing to communicate. What they need is more social functions in the tower that address this issue. Maybe have raid emotes like "Hey, I'm looking for a raid group!" or "Looking for Hard Raid."

            • As much as its a pain getting a group together I can finally see why there is no matchmaking for the raid. However there is no excuse for matchmaking not to be in other end game content like weeklies

              • I think im going to vote no on this one. Let me elaborate; matchmaking will make it so you end up with randoms and they might know or not know how to run it correctly. Especially hard mode which requires everyone to stay alive. I dont know but I wouls much rather like to have my own team that is experienced and able to complete it in a single try. But I understand how matchmaking can be helpful to those who can,t get a team together and also matchmaking will help with the learning curve , but for people like me who dont want to spend countless hours in there due to a single person dying consistenly we would much rather form our own fireteam.

Might as well match make now. Random atheon definitely knocks the wind out of their experienced team sails.

                • I'm good with it as long as they don't stick me with anyone below level 27 for normal and 29 for hard.

                • they shouldn't because the raid is all about communicating and the game chat is shit right now. Plus not everyone may have a mic
