Petition to not change atheon's targets

I can understand fixing the EXPLOITS for fighting the templar, but what they are doing about atheon's choice in who he teleports absolutely ruins the raid. its a strategy to have 3 members in charge of getting the relic and having the other 3 killing harpies and holding the sync plate not an EXPLOIT!! bungie said we need to be a solid group to do the vault.... And strategy is part of what makes a solid fireteam. if anyone agrees please leave a comment whether you do agree or not, and if not I only ask the real forum posters to give their reasoning. *edit* I would like to add another point which is related to another response on my post... The group that will be recognized for beating the raid ob hard first should no longer recieve said recognition due to bungie refering to this as a "bug"... The same method they used. thus they used an exploit to succeed and it should no longer count if such is the logic of bungie's change. if they make the change I feel that it only be fair to reissue the challenge! would that group be happy with said change... Hell no... They would feel ripped off but thats what all you who disagree should accept.

  • The only thing difficult about the raid is teamwork. Sack up, learn the roles, and do your job. After that its smooth sailing.

    • Typical random fire team: "Guys, just follow me, I know a trick... I saw it on YouTube" -wipe. Dude was full of crap and can't push. Soon won't matter. Better start learning. "I can't use the relic. This is garbage I hate Bungie" -wipe. Frustration at own inability to even attempt to learn a role is directed at developer. Will soon leave fireteam unannounced in hopes of finding a team that can better carry him. "Can we hurry this up? I don't have all night" -wipe. Someone hasn't managed their time. They get more angry as they lose, causing their skill to drop. Raids take time. At least we have check points. "..." -wipe. No mic. "Where do you guys need me? And do you want to try hard after this?" -wipe. Still using a blue primary with 245 damage. Is also stuck on thorn bounty. Also will leave unannounced to find a team that can better carry his ass. "Ok guys." -wipe. The one. A player who has experience, who's willing to share that information and pass on strategies they feel are effective. Might not beat the boss on this sitting. But the five players above have leaned something to take on next time. But not every team is gonna beat it. I am fully confident that every player who's currently making excuses for their lack of versatility will attempt the raid and learn the roles. I won't say "git gud scrub", because each job, even the relic, isn't as hard as you think. If you're not properly geared, then sorry. The taxi isn't going to be as easy as before. Every player deserves to beat the raid, but the game allows you plenty of ways to acquire better gear. Come back when you can help us. So we can help you.

      • I agree wholeheartedly. They are doing this to punish those who shortcut it an exploit the bosses. They say they want team work which is exactly what is accomplished when everyone has known role or especially if one person doesn't have an extensive loadout, highly leveled weapons or experience. Or your best players could do the relic run while your best defenders did their thing. Now everyone has to know what to do and classes and loadouts need to be more diverse. This only hurts the less skilled and experienced players who are trying to figure out what's going on and how to do it. The exploiters and nonstop VOG'ers will not be affected at all, just inconvenienced.

      • Well, I thought that random porting would make boss harder, but in fact it was just the opposite. Since we weren't worried about running back to be in position, our crew beat aethon in 3 rounds of portals. Total hard mode run time was 46 minutes. Random ports didn't make a difference.

        • I usually never agree with anyone on the forums, but I agree. They should fix pushing off Templar and Ath, but keep who STRATEGICALLY goes in the ports.

            • I don't like it, because it's better to know what you're gonna do. But I don't think the different classes being better at different things is valid. I mean, there is virtually no difference between them. At least not like, I believe, most people would think when just looking at the names. They all use the same weapons. They all get the same armor ratings, basically. And they all have the same trainings, that alter your agility/armor/regen stats, as far as I know. So no class should be arguably better with the relic or holding portals open. Abilities don't make that much of a difference imo.

              • I understand the people that say every member of the fireteam should know all aspects of the raid and it makes your team more diverse, BUT, it should be up to us to decide that. Not Bungie. Like another poster already said, they did this because the raid was getting too easy. You wouldn't tell every member of your football team that they need to learn how to play QB, or punt, or play offensive line. Each person on that team has a role. If someone WANTS to learn other roles, then great! But it should not be up to Bungie to decide that for everyone.

                  I agree 100% that Bungie is wrong for doing this. Players/Raid teams have their roles and strategies set to beat the raid. Now Bungie wants to take away strategey from the raid, Why Bungie? Why not focus on adding content to Destiny instead of removing/changing things that don't need to be touched. Bungie needs to start listening to the community about adding content to improve the game, and not nerfing/removing every god damm thing. Why do we have to play the way Bungie wants us to, why can't we play the way we want? After all, your customers & fan base is what made you Bungie, but yet you piss on all of us. Whatever happened to the great developers who made one of the best video game series of all time, Halo. I guess greed got the best of you Bungie, exploiting all of your loyal customers/fans, and turning into sell outs by partnering with activision. This game has/had alot of potential, but now I continue to see more disappointment then anything else. Hopefully this actually gets seen by Bungie, but then again, they don't really give a crap about their community.

                • i think bungie should add RNG to everything that doesn't already have it. Random timed loading screens, random damage for each bullet, random heights for jumping, random sprint speeds, random sizes of enemies in strikes, random color changing shaders. random patches random moderators random programmers!!!!!

                    It has nothing to do with skill at all. They are only removing the strategy itself, leaving it to RNG fully. Why even have different classes in there then? Why would titans have a bubble? Why does warlocks have effective nades and self revive? Why does gunslingers a huge amount of damage output? Heck, Lets make you a random class while being teleported in there just for the heck of randomness. This is a huge misstake bungie and it will be clear later on. Enjoy. Petition signed.

                  • I'm sorry Bungie, but adding that element of randomness will only frustrate hardcore raiders. I agree with the OP that there is quite a bit of strategy involved in deciding who stays to fight supplicants, and who goes back in time. To be frank, it's hard for me to be excited about future raids if this level of randomness is what we have to look forward to.

                  • I'm on the fence. On the one hand it kinda makes things a little chaotic and somewhat eliminates strategy but on the other it becomes a better test of the players. Testing every individuals ability to think on the fly and accomplish all tasks. I think it wouldn't be bad if they made it so atheon is guaranteed to drop something worth while. If they don't do that then I agree with you, I think they should just leave it alone
