Are Titans Under-Rating Themselves?...Here's my Thoughts...

I've been playing Destiny since Day 1, and im in love with it. Yea yea, let me hear more about how "Its not fair" this and "I never get cool stuff" that...I didnt care. I FINALLY got my first purple item from the Queen's Revenge event (my helmet) and got my first purple weapon on the last day of the Iron Banner event (my Hand Cannon) and until 2 days ago that was it (then I finally got to level 2 with Dead Orbit and bought all purple armour set)...but it felt so good when I finally got my items it made it all worth it. But you didn't open this topic to hear all of that did you? You came to see what trash this cocky Hunter was gonna say about your Titans...didn't you? Well Maybe I would, but many of your fellow Titan brethren have already beat me to it. Countless numbers of topics have been posted on this forum by Titans complaining about how the are way under-powered and they stand no chance against the Gunslinger Hunters or the near-immortal Sun Slinger Warlocks...and the only thing I have to say when I see those comments is... "Are you sure?" Lets start with my favorite statement in the debate... "Hunters are to OP (Over-Powered)" ...hehehe...thank you for the complement, because it is only through brilliant skill and vast numbers that it appears that way to you. You point out the fact that you feel every 2 minutes a Bladedancer Hunter runs into a room and kills you off in a flash, just to revive and have a Gunslinger Hunter appear and OSK you...just to go through the same thing 2 minutes later. I can feel your pain...it is the same pain I felt when I started playing CoD Black Ops 2 (the first CoD I had played in over 4 years)...but it is all a clever illusion that has fooled you my unlucky Titans...let me bring you into the Travelers Light of knowledge... You feel that Hunters are OP because you see a Hunter super so often...but thats because MOST DESTINY PLAYERS ARE HUNTERS! I'm not sure WHY, because many members of the proud Hunter Class play more like Titans or Warlocks, but maybe they are only part-time Hunters...but it is the simplicity of NUMBERS that fools you into believing we are OP...let me provide some perspective... If you look into my character profiles you will see that I also possess a Warlock and a Titan, both of which are level 9 at the time of this writing. I am a proud member of the Hunter Class, but I didn't want to be bummed out if I got items for other classes during my travels and battles. That is really the extent of my reasoning behind owning them. My opinion of the Warlock class is that its more of a "Show off" class. They get to wear fancy robes and play with fire / "Dark matter" (whatever that black orb is" and then when they are killed in battle, they get to resurrect themselves like a Phoenix ... and draw MASSIVE attention to themselves after that because they are a giant walking tower of flame... Not my style... I prefer my Hunter Class because i'm not much for showing off...id much prefer to stalk my prey in the darkness of the shadows, only to reveal myself when I go for the kill...some call it cowardly...but we call it "Thinking SMARTER, not HARDER". If you think if aspects of an MMORPG game, think of Hunters as the DPS classes, Titans as the Tank Class, and Warlocks as the Castor Classes...Hunters are not cowards...we are the ones who get the job done and eliminate our targets. To go blindly into the fray, wasting ammo trying to one v one against a target with more defensive points is nothing but stupidity. But enough on my Hunter Class...on to the final class.. Titans. Here is what I experienced as a Titan...Power. Titans say they don't have it, but I felt it in the Crucible. I leveled up my Titan from 1 to 6 in a few hours the day I created him. Then I left him alone until the Iron Banner. Then, after falling to many times to the blind super of Titans who destroy an entire room in one blow, I told myself to give it a try...and I did. I leveled up my Titan up to level 8 in PvE, then took him to the Iron Banner...and never lost a single match. Not a single match was I below 2nd on my team. Not a single match was my KD lower than 1.5. I was a GOD among pests of which I swatted to the ground with my level 1 green Pulse Rifle and squashed with my Shoulder Charge. When I needed to capture a checkpoint, I used my super and CLEARED OUT the area and CAPTURED IT. All of this with my level 8 Titan with a green level 1 pulse rifle, a level 5 shotgun, and level 4-6 common gear. So to all of you Titans who whine about how your Class is weak, here's a heads up for you... Your Class is amazing...It's your fault your weak. You are not a good Destiny gamer. Boo-freakin-hoo. Bungie is not going to go custom tailor a class that will make you the best player on Earth (or the moon, or venus, or mars, or the reef, or mercury...or anywhere). It takes a certain set of skills, and yours just don't make you good at playing this game as a Titan. Maybe try another class? If all you play as a Titan for is for looks and/or the super, then you don't NEED to be in that class. If you want to look stylish and still make things go "BOOM", try being a Warlock. If you want to try to actually force yourself to hone your skills at gunplay (aiming being the priority) then try being a Hunter. The Hunters are the only class that do not have a super that blows an area up (until you unlock the proper upgrade to the Bladedancer sub-class, but thats WAY down the road) and yea, the Gunslinger super is OSK, but you have to actually HIT the target enemy and only have 3 (4 after upgrades) shots to do so with a time limit. Not as easy as it looks. At the end of the day, find the right Class for your skills and go from there, and if you still feel like your under-powered... Then you just suck, sorry. Enjoy the Game! EDIT* for spelling and grammar errors

  • Striker Titans are the easiest class to play I can't see how someone can complain about it. Defenders I would say take patience but they are amazing support/tanks. I wholeheartedly believe players (of all classes) complain 85% of the time of L2P issues. There are balancing issues true but every class is good if you know what you are doing. In my opinion for PvP Titabs are the extremes of ease of use: Strikers are the easiest, Defenders hardest to use.
