Guys, let's be honest, the Hive all look kinda dorky for a race that did terrible things to the moon. Crota is some kind of sword-wielding, army-slaughtering monster who may in fact be a dragon, the Shrines of Oryx look like something straight out of a Cosmic Horror novel and Phogoth is the "bossest" (being an opponent whose confrontation feels more than fighting a beefed-up mook) Boss Monster in the game (not counting Vault of Glass), but everything else is just dumb. The Acolytes are generic, the knights are hard to take seriously with their tricorn hats, the ogres are stuck right at the "big, but not super-threatening" level, the wizards' "attack" needs to be something more impressive (like lightning bolts) and the thralls are spooky until you notice their thimble heads. So, I think I know what they need. You ready for this? Dinosaurs. Their skins need to be designed after dinosaurs (Jurassic Park dinosaurs -- feathers would be too hard to animate). The Acolytes can be Triceratopses, the thralls can be Deinonychuses, the knights can be Allosauruses, the wizards can be Pterodactyls (not actually dinosaurs be whatever) and ogres become Tyrannosurus Rexes (with laser breath).
