Bungie/DeeJ need to see this.

EDIT: DEEJ SAW IT http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/73281051/0/0 He also then went on to say that the features would require lots of coding, even though it's just UI changes. ...lol? Follow the link, I would love for these features to be in my Destiny experience. This user has done an amazing job.

For the VOTE SCREEN one hows about a skip option that brings up two different strikes for you to vote on. If I know bungie there is a strong possibility the first voting screen might me two strike you just finished and the skip option will bring up fresh options. For the I'M LOOKING FOR A FIRETEAM one LFRG, or LFRM (and by abbreviation there's a number that shows how many players are needed in red. QUICK WEAPON CHANGE you can mark 3 primary's, 2 secondary's, and two heavys in the menu(with hopes they let us equipt more then one exotic in pve only). All in all, love all of these your Ideas. I want a different looking ui menu too. black background or idk Edit: I almost forgot, planet and tower chat(duh right). I also had this amazing idea, when you look as the roster page in your menu hold LT to look at sub classes ( a little arc, void, or solar icon shows by their name, that's how you'll have an idea of what super to expect in pvp or other wise), and hold RT to see the name of the primary they have, Hold and press right on the D-pad to see the secondary, and right again to see the heavy( name of weapon will be to the right of the in the box, maybe abbreviated idk). BOOM!!!

I never like to come to someone's "defense", but these UI changes are not all just cosmetics, and thus not all just "easily" implemented. While things like the Faction Progression info, the "I need a Raid Team" info in the tower, or the Ammo Synth Shortcut might be doable, many of the bigger proposed changes for a "HUD Menu" would need a lot of additional info to be kept "ready" in the memory, need to be streamed constantly and ready at a moment's notice. The reason the menu "loads" when you enter it, is that it actually does load (from the servers, I presume) the info for you to see. While, as I said, things like the Ammo Synth shortcut might be doable, it would still require the info of how many there are and what the countdown is to be present in the memory. The same goes for the Bounty Progression. And while those might just be numerical values, there still needs to be a graphical representation for it, and no matter how small the stuff, it accumulates. Having the Grimoire might seem like a cool idea, but would you really like it, if you basically had to open a web-browser during the game to surf the web and wait for the Grimoire to load? Destiny is constantly streaming and loading so much info, I'm not sure the "strain" is worth the trouble. I would like it if maybe the Tower got a Library where you could peruse the Grimoire at length, but that would be a lot different than having the Grimoire load into the menu pages - something that would have to theoretically work reliably without interfering with someone else's game (like your fireteam) even during a heated battle. It might not seem that way, but the Grimoire is a lot of data that needs to be loaded and bandwidth and speed are not endless. That said, with so many people having access to a smartphone and the app, you could just use that (and there it would be nice to have Faction Progression, even Vendor Stock and all other kinds of things viewable, at least more than it has now). In fact, the App provides a lot of the informational features this UI concept asks for. But I digress, so let's get back to these proposed changes. The weapons are a much bigger issue than anything else. All the variety, the different looks, stats, behaviors, bonuses, perks, all of that would have to be pre-loaded, for every weapon in your arsenal. Do you know how sometimes when you just quickly swap your weapons, the weapon will not appear but you're left with a fluid-energy frame in your hands? That's when the weapon data couldn't be loaded quickly enough - something that might even happen if most of the data is loaded locally from your HDD and only modifiers (like from hotfixes) are applied through the servers/cloud. Every time the menu loads, it does not do so just to frustrate people with loading times. The menu gives the program a chance to take something out of the memory and put in something else. Every time you change your weapon, the one you had is "dropped" from memory and the new one, with all its characteristics is put in. Doing something like that on the fly would either mean all of your weapons would have to be pre-loaded, which puts a lot of additional strain on the memory, or they would have to "load in", leaving you possibly with several seconds of not holding a gun in your hand while it's loading. Destiny already has to have a huge amount of "little things" in its memory, everything from your armor, shader, equipment, all three equipped weapons, your character class and its different moves and abilities, so what seems like just "small, simple UI shortcuts" are not that small in big scheme of things. Especially if you consider, that the game then has to stream that info, and any changes you make, to the servers who then have to stream it back into the game for other people around you to see and notice the effects. So, yes, maybe some of these changes could be done without much fuss, simply integrating these features into a "HUD-Menu", but that wouldn't alleviate the loading times. Without a considerable amount of new code and new memory allotment, all it would do is move the loading times to a different place. Instead of having the menu load for a few seconds with everything, you'd have a second of loading when opening the Navigation Screen until your Bounty Progress shows up. You'd have a second of loading for each weapon to be even shown in a HUD quick-swap menu, then another two seconds for the weapon to actually load into the game. And I think you would be amiss in assuming that things like that did not cross Bungie's mind during development. But they apparently decided that they'd rather have one menu with one loading time for everything, than lots of little loading times right during gameplay. I can only speak for myself, but I would find it much more immersion-adverse if I could quickly change my gun during gameplay, but it would actually take a few seconds for it to really "arrive" in the game. Not to disrespect the impressive efforts of the person who made these suggestions, Photoshop Pictures are a lot easier to make than the actual functionality, the systems and the information that would be behind those "simple UI improvements".

    • What bungie should do I think, is that when ever their teams are ready to work on a fix. Put a vote up on the forum and work on that till its done. Maybe disable comments to quell the b*tching, and toss up a c++ tutorial video so some of these people understand how sometimes a simple fix can take a long time. Then maybe try to set up a testing server so they can see how actual players work in it. Dice did it with battlefield and was actually a really awesome way to test new code on a server bases, they could see how lag effected it, see how players would test the limits, and well it was a bunch of free testers, win win. But that's just my idea

      • Yes to pretty much all of this. The main thing I want is some audio options. I can't hear chat over the music and gunfire most of the time. Let me adjust the levels!

CARDINAL DIRECTIONS ON THE RADAR!!! That's what I want most! A north, south east and west indicator on the map, or at least an "N" for north. Simple. Don't know why it isn't already on there. (Also maybe the ability to toggle auto aim)

Could they make the blues more blue? And the reds, less red? Could they make the shiny bits more chrome?

This is such an amazing idea like literally it would make playing destiny 110% better an more fun seriously I cant stress it enough but this guy know what he is doing I mean we all have theses same ideas for the game but this guy actually took the time an effort to put it out there for everyone to see... like for the ammo synthesis idea would help out so much cause u do not have enough time to go threw your inventory an go threw a whole bunch of stuff to find it an then use it especially when u are in the crota hard raid cause u need to have them for the final boss fight an buy the time u use up your ammo synthesis u would have been shot down cause u are away from the playing field for at least a good 30 seconds an thats a lot when u are in situations like the crota hard raid u dont got time to do that so making that option to use your heavy ammo synthesis without leaving the games playing field could drastically change the way u play im 110% ok on all these ideas this guys have shown an offered us....I hope bungie does take this idea is to consideration... or even this would be a good idea for the future of destiny like destiny 2 or new dlc content...

        • this would be fantastic, a few nice simple mods that would go a long way to fixing issues that shouldn't really have been there in the first place. All these tweaks, like the one just announced for faction rep, do nothing to unbalance the gameplay and would just help to keep players immersed. Yes, yes Bungie, it's wonderful that we've managed to come up with any number of LFG's, but should we really have needed to in the first place?

        • Nice work! Really good ideas backed up with a strong notion of how they could be implemented. I'm a huge fan of the quick primary weapon toggle idea. I've posted the idea a couple of times myself and had no feedback, so assumed it was just me who found it frustrating to have to go to the main menu to swap weapons. I hope at least some of your suggestions get used soon.

        • It would require a lot of coding though considering how many people play this game. Also don't say its easy unless you design gigantic games like Destiny which hundreds of thousands of people are playing at a time. They are already working on Destiny 2, finishing up House of Wolves, fixing Dark Below, Fixing all exploits in the game, and also try to stop error codes. This already takes a lot of money this will cost a lot more money or time to do and he didn't say it wouldn't happen. He said they might do it in the future.

        • First of all, good work on your designs. Bungie decided to go quantity over quality. They chose to make DLC so they can cash in instead making the best game they could possibly make. Sure this stuff is going to take some time and coding, but this is stuff that is essential for a great game. I guess when you spend that much money, you need to worry about how you're going to get it back. I hope that they can update this stuff and improve the game, it would go a long way.

          • Saw this on reddit. This really needs some attention, really a great job! This is exactly what this game needs and I hope Bungie will see this. And regarding that it needs "to much coding" or whatever: this will be worth it, maybe Bungie should have taken the game more seriously and thought about gameplay, UI and how the game worked instead of god damn dance moves and points and dumb stuff like that. This actually makes me a mad, this thing is so well done and I really genuinely think this will make the game so much better..
