A common criticism of Destiny has been that the classes are all too "similar". All classes can wield the similar guns, have similar stats and similar perks. This leads to PvE that never allows the identity of your character to shine.
However after starting a new Titan character and moving away from my trusted Warlock, I have to say that the subtle differences seem to make a definitive change to the way I play the game. I'm not sure if this is just my perception or a well thought out class talent tree. The sub classes do seem to fit into broad established classes normally seen in MMO's :
Titan/Striker - DPS (melee)
Titan/Defender - Tank/Support
Warlock/Voidwalker - DPS (ranged)
Warlock/Sunslinger - Support
Hunter/Gunslinger - DPS (ranged)
Hunter/Blade Dancer - DPS (melee)
Whilst this list is by no means definitive and dependent on the individuals play styles, it still made me wonder what classes would the community like to see?
Barbarian (Dedicated Tank) - This class could pull/agro enemies of allies and deal more damage the more enemies they took on.
Cleric/Bard (Dedicated Medic) - This class would focus on supporting allies using grenades and powers to heal, reduce cool downs, allow more orbs to be created and buff enemies up.
Illusionist (Dedicated to Support) - The class would concentrate on reducing buffing down enemies, helping to slow them down, poison, blind, freeze, burn or blocking enemy actions.
What does everyone think? Would new classes be a good idea or would they be game breaking? If you want a new class which one would you like to see?
