3 Ideas For Improving The Tower

I love Destiny, and I look forward to continue watching it evolve over the years and supporting it throughout this evolution. The following is a straightforward, small list of ideas specifically about expanding and improving upon The Tower experience over the next several years. Please post your own ideas and reactions to what I suggest. Thank you, fellow Guardians. 1 - A Social Cantina/Saloon - Imagine returning from your far-reaching adventures in the galaxy to pick up a cold one with your fire team, show off your newly acquired dance moves on the dance floor, and engage in live conversations with like-minds, picking up hints, tips, and maybe even hearing rumors about a new loot cave on Mars? Destiny is already one the closest video games to approximating the Star Wars experience, but if there was a Mos Eisely-like Cantina where players could engage with one another in an always raucous, always noisy, always lively environment that encouraged players to chat, partake in mini games, perhaps gamble etc, Destiny would go a long way in making that kind of experience all the more palpable and engaging. It could also be a way for Bungie to allow legends to spread naturally. Gamers could share their exploits or inquire about some long lost, famed relic in the reef. 2 - Apartments - Wouldn't it be great to have your own personalized space in The Tower where you could display banners and trophies and even enter an interactive stats menu that detailed every single facet of your adventure (allowing those who don't have access to the app or Bungie.net a chance to view their stats)? You could invite your fireteam over to watch clips of your latest adventures displayed on your living room television, play some kind of futuristic Guardian chess, or just marvel at your trophy rooms together. Such would make the already home-like Tower that much more alive, personalized and comfortable. 3 - Mini Games - mini-games might be much-maligned by many in the gaming community, but there's no way even the most repetitive of mini games wouldn't garner a lot of attention in The Tower. Have you seen how much attention the big purple ball and the soccer ball get? Those two balls are great fun, and a small, uplifting indication into the child like need for play gamers have. Destiny can encourage that benevolent, competitive behavior even more, providing gamers with a variety of interactive activities throughout The Tower. For example - a shooting range or training ground could easily occupy player's time, and remain a fitting component of the game world. These are only a few ideas, but I think it's good start. Share your own! I look forward to seeing you in The Tower.
