The Iron Banner Feedback Thread. discuss you opinions: likes/ dislikes, changes you'd like to see next time.

So here is my opinion of what needs [b][i]fixing[/i][/b] in iron banner: •[u]Gear[/u] doesn't feel like it has any effect since I'm still getting killed by level 5s with common gear. •[u]Rewards[/u] are assigned same as normal crucible, reputation items aside. •[u]Reputation[/u] gains need an [b]Immediate[/b] patch. So many people quitting when only a few points down. 10 rep reward for losses NEEDS to happen. What does the community think about Iron Banner? What needs fixing?   • Would like to see rewards for consecutive matches won. A playing ban for players that leave matches without a bungie error. Or a loss of IB points. Mercy rule would be awesome lol more shaders and gun rewards would be nice. A permanent iron banner.

    I would have like it if the iron banner was PVP's Raid equivalent. For example: -[u]Gear[/u]: Did have much larger impact. (To increase difficulty) -[u]Rewards[/u]: Armor and Weapon drops similar to Raid equipment. (Random drops would be fine, performance being a slight factor would be appreciated.) -[b]Armor[/b]: Max Light = 30 -[b]Weapons[/b]: -Elemental Damage -Perks that are crucible specific Ex.(does X% more damage to ______ class guardians.) -[u]Reputation[/u]: At least some reputation for finishing the game win or lose. -[u]Bounties[/u]: More objective base bounties seeing as Iron Banner is a variant of control. Ex.(Get X amount of defends/ Captures.)

    • As a 29 Titan with storm fist fully charged I had a lvl 11 in a corner and had to hit them 4 times with a melee to drop them even with the aforementioned storm fist charge later in the game I was one hit melee'd by the same lvl 11 WTF whatever scaling they used grossly favours the low lvls and pretty much goes against what they advertised this event to be

The level difference is capped at 7. So a level 5 and level 23 have the same chance against a level 30. Also, I do think that the +10 rep for losing side is a good idea. When pointed out that people were quitting early, they responded with something along the lines of "there's still crucible marks and potential drops." There's marks and drops in regular crucible, so people don't want that. They want IB rep, so they quit when they're not going to get it. I don't think they understand this yet.

    • Iron banner sucks cause there is absolutely no difference, contrary to the bullshit that has been said on weekly update. No no, a lvl 6 derp with non upgraded lvl 1 white gun does as much dmg as a fully upgraded suros. Only the perks matter of course, as it's always been in the crucible. Also, control....omfg, that shits the most annoying style of gameplay ever, next time they should make it rumble or clash at the very least. I dont agree with rep being given out upon a loss, that way you could just afk and earn points that you dont deserve, no thx.

      I've played a lot of Iron Banner and I've lost every single match because the enemy team either always gets the good spawn camp areas or all have fully-upgraded Suros Regimes. It's ridiculous how much my team falls apart because the enemy strategy is to camp in areas where we can't even reach them. I think a lot of the maps are broken for this reason in terms of the Iron Banner. If you can't kill the enemy because they're camping and are a higher level than you, you're guaranteed to lose from the start. I also feel like my weapons and gear are useless despite being fully upgraded and legendary.

      • So in my option my gear(lvl 25 warlock) does make a difference especial weapons. For example, yesterday I was playing with a level 8 who was in mostly uncommon gear. When I hit him with my fusion rifle he died instantly. He ended up spawning behind me and shooting me with his. It took out my shield but fave me the time to spin and kill him. GEAR MAKES A DIFFERENCE!!!

          I played it once. I don't really have that great of gear. I just got a legendary autorifle last night. I have a legendary fusion rifle but it's not upgraded. My armor isn't fully upgraded yet either. So, I'm really not ready for it yet. Maybe by the end of it I might be or the next time they do it. *The main reason I haven't played it since is because I heard a lot of people quit out on it. So, until Bungie finds a way to fix that I'll stick to the regular crucible. Having people quit mid match is really annoying.

            • Reputation rewards (items on vendor) are terrible. No not the items themselves, the fact that warlocks only have the gloves and class item for sale. Titans get the chest, gloves, class item for sale. Anybody else feel like that's BULLSHIT?

              • [b][u]Pros[/u][/b] - New Shaders - New Items [b][u]Cons[/u][/b] - Best quality items are locked behind a RNG wall - 24/7 Control which is practically impossible to prevent consistent losses in when flying solo - Zero rep awarded for losing games - Underwhelming "level advantages" - Now responsible for my refusal to participate in all objective based game types and PvP oriented events in Destiny without a five man team present So yeah... It's been a relatively terrible experience for me overall, but thankfully I'm one more win and bounty away from being done.

                • My only concern is the IB rep for a loss. It literally gives NO incentive to play/stay. Sure, elitists can argue that losers shouldn't get anything but it works both ways. Rep needs more games. Games need more players. No rep for losses = less players = less games. I personally think that Crucible/IB rep should be kill based which would make it much more fun and reward players for doing well. 1 kill = 1 rep.

                  • As far as the rep goes maybe instead of rep for a loss, you could get some sort of continuous match rep boost. so that even if you lost the last match you get like a 10% rep boost for each continuous match you hadnt left. capping at a certain point. so even if you know youll lose you know the next time you win your chain will boost your next rep gain by 30%

                    • So the only thing I have to say my best games in crucible were a 1.2 and in ib I have a 3.25 so I see a difference but there is something going on with the levels 12 - 18 they shouldn't be able to take four or five shots from a 248 hand cannon that's my only complaint

                      • Gear: At level 28 with a maxed out Devil You Know hand cannon, I should be able to take out level 5-15's with one headshot, not two. Everything on up from there should require the normal two headshots. Like wise, a level 5-15 should need to put at least 3 hand cannon headshots into me before I go down. Can't really comment about other primary weapons because I don't really use them. Secondary weapons are tricky in balance as it is, so I won't comment on those either. Heavy weapons seem okay, though my machine gun should be chewing through low levels as well, and it doesn't seem to be. That being said, I think low levels should be worth less points per kill and if you are a low level and manage to kill a high level, it should be worth more points. Risk vs reward kind of thing. Rewards: Speaking of rewards, there wasn't much in this event that really excited me. The shaders are nice and the cloak is a nice fashion statement, but that is about it. People at the bottom of a losing team are still getting some nice stuff, myself included in a few matches, while people at the top of a losing team are normally getting the shaft, myself included a few matches as well. Ditto for winning teams. That needs to change. I understand the logic of it in normal crucible because it helps out those who are just learning, but this event was supposed to be about the best and the best deserve something for their efforts on both sides. The worst players should get nothing better than a piece of green gear, or a blue shader at best. Everyone else inbetween can use the normal crucible rng for rewards. Reputation: This is a tricky topic to address. Losers are getting nothing and it is really starting to throw off games with people leaving. Some people like the penalty option for leaving early, others want to encourage staying by giving rep to both sides. I think it should be both. Winners should get their normal rep, losers should get 5 rep, and anyone who leaves early gets a 10 minute cooldown on being able to join another pvp match. That penalty will also include 1 hour flag on your account so if you do it again, the penalty becomes 20 minutes (and on up to one hour) and the 1 hour flag resets.

                        • With the system the way it currently is, what is the incentive for me to stay in the game when my team is down 4000 points? A 1% chance of landing something useful at the end of the game? Sorry, I'll just quit and hope for a better team next time.

                          • I personally don't see a difference at all but I like that while I play iron banner i get iron banner rep AND crucible rep. It's just kind of a bonus if you enjoy the crucible.

                            So browsing over this another this, a suggestion i haven't seen is breaking down the rooms into tiers, 1-10, For the low end and no one can go in expecting to see and exotic or legendairy. 11-20, for those who are on their way but not quite there and maybe they could see a legendary engram if they are closer to or at 20? 21-30 for those of us who have put in the effort to be as high as we are and the time. this was supposed to be where our armor and weapon stats matterd and those of us who did can face off against one another and the lowbies won't be caught in the cross fire, legendarys and exotics as loot drops can still happen and people can get a blue engram for sticking it out till the end. also losing a match offers 10 rep for all brackets ( stacking with your rep boost via cloak, shader, and emblem). So that they could give us the promiced gains off facing off against the higher and lower ends without anyone feeling eather godlike or the ant under the millstone. as fasr as rewards go I feel like maybe they should implement a stacking boost to increase your chances baised on your wins and how long you go without getting an item, not too sure on the formula as it is kinda late atm, will touch up on it later.

                          • Needs to be random playlist. Meaning, every match can be: control, clash, rumble, skirmish or salvage. Rewards should be bought from Saladin. If ranking to 3 only unlocks a couple of armor and 1 gun, it lessens the motivation to continue. No disrespect to new players but low levels shouldn't be able to compete equally with high level players. IB is no place for mercy. Quitters should have warnings and penalties. Like if you"ve done it 3x, then you're out of IB for this amount of time. And this wouldn't necessarily be about IB but could we have a custom game where we can turn off supers or restrict levels or certain guns.

                              • Gameplay feels just like normal crucible, I'm running with my lvl 26 titan and doing just fine. Hope that I'm making the higher levels angry. I totaly agree with T4k3aBr4k3, the gear, rewards, and reputation needs to be revisited. I've played this event more if I could get rep for playing. Losing just sucks without getting anything for it. My friends think this is just stupid. I also don't feel like one week makes events worth it anymore. Just going to finish getting my 100 marks and call it quits for this event.
