*edit* deej of you read this please Watch the second video I posted.* This, and it's associated second part are excellent analysis of quest design. I feel like Bungie really could have pushed some environmental quests more, have us discover little pockets of surviving humanity and such. Deej if you could give your input both to us and the design team that'd be great. This would provide some much needed freshness to the game!

  • Hopefully all the Negative Feedback (Not Complaints) about the story and quests will make it through to the right people. I want to love this game, I just can't.. Its fun, beautiful and musically awesome, but their is no connection to anyone..

  • 5 kinds of quests? Man, I never thought that I'd think to myself that a game might actually benefit from having a few escort quests. There are so few kinds of quests that having some goddamned escort quests might actually improve things. That's pretty sad.

    • Great post! I discover extra credits a few months ago and I often though about a lot of their videos while I was playing destiny. It's like bungie watched them all and did exactly what they recommended NOT to do while designing their game. It's almost funny how much they follow that line of thinking

    • That is a good concept and I'm getting the idea we may not see this over night, but it could be implemented into Patrol in a further expansion or update. Side Quest should be side [i]Stories[/i] that complement the overall lore of the game's story. Thus far Patrol succeeds in this, but the diversity is mostly brought by the Public events which are at time hard to find. I find that exploration is fun in this game and has great amazing detail to the living environments. But a good concept to implement would be for example Portal 2's use of visual story hints like graffiti on the walls and maybe journal logs or crime scene investigations that have some small story tid bits. Thus leading to my idea that maybe random public events or specific patrols that lead to sides story missions should be provided or expanded upon. Like for example, complete a specific type of public even or patrol provides a clue that would lead to a story mission that only can be unlock through exploration and timing with a specific mission. Sort of like the Exotic bounties but this time with actual cinematic or log entries you find and learn things. This would lead to a new story mission that when played gives some story lore no matter how simple changes our perspective of the world of Destiny. I hope this makes sense, lol. What really needs to be done is a expansion of the [u]current [/u] games Patrol mission mode, not a complete throw away and start over, that would be ridiculous for the game is really fun.

            • He is listening it's just he's busy with all the complaints about the game and trying to make it better. He can't just respond to it, there r others like u asking for what ur asking and there's too many asking.

              • Bungie has the seeds to many of these unique quests with the many dead ghosts on the different worlds. In addition to lore, we guardians could be motivated to finishing the mission started by our now dead brother.

              • will never happen, gamers arnt just nerds anymore, imagine a million average gamers crying because they cant figure out some basic clue. dont get me wrong, i would love this, i had the time of my life in the 90s playing point and click games figuring out what the next step is, but alas it just isnt the same anymore

                  • First off, why do people make polls that don't have answers that disagree with what the topic creator is talking about? Second, that's a huge amount of work to create quests like this when in reality, only a small number of players will put in real thought to figure them out. Most people will just go online to view how to do it and go through the steps to get the reward for the quest. It's sad, but it's true.

                    • Love it... I want to care about the world, not go through it because I want to be perfect. I am tired of these kind of MMOs. I want a deep world with an history, puzzles, riddles, and secret worlds.

                      • I would love to see more story line quests, especially ones where we get to see more of the worlds rather than wandering around the same areas taking down the same groups of enemies as they respawn to complete the patrol missons. Finding little groups of survivors and saving them would be fun, or even getting the patrol missons from them rather that a flashing green bulb and voice in my head. Would give more context to what we are doing overall.

                      • The second video is far better. I really like both though. I love how enviromentle quests are explained and then compare them to the poop we get on patrol missions... bungie... this is my biggest wish.... fix patrol missions there tosh.
