Should RAIDS have MATCHMAKING? If yes/no Why?
Do you think it will ruin the whole concept of the Raid ?

Yes. There's no in game chat. Can't really communicate much with our four emotes. Not really meeting other players in game, so if someone is like me and has friends who don't play, we're stuck solo until match making happens.

If they do make matchmaking for raids, there is going to be a huge influx of casual players wanting nerfs. "OMG ITS SO HARD BUNJI MUSTVE MADE A MISTAKE, IM GONNA MAKE A POST ON THE FORUMS! YEAH, THAT'LL SHOW THEM!"

One thing I don't understand is why not? People complain that "Oh if people can't finish strikes what makes you think they can do a raid!" Well, why not just give everyone the option anyway? If you don't want to risk people leaving halfway through, form your own group. But for those of us with more limited ability to form a group, why not just give us the option? For a game called Destiny, it does a Damn good job not letting you forge your own identity at all. From voice chat to customization to matchmaking, Bungie really wants to limit our freedom of choice in this game.

Even if the majority of people can't do it with randoms, they still deserve a chance to do it. As long as they are a high enough level and communicate, even randoms should be able to do it.

I want matchmaking because none of my friends have destiny. It sucks because even when I post in the forum for weekly strikes no one replies... Had to do it solo. It would make the game much more fun and I could make new friends

1 ReplyNo. Never. Not happening. Kids can't even make it through a 20 minute strike, but you think matchmaking in a 2 hour raid will work. Sorry, but if you want matchmaking in raids, you don't know your ass from your elbow.

2 RepliesYes, why not that way everyone has access to the same content, if you want to make a killer fire team good you can always could, but for the rest of us who are not ten anymore have wives, kids, jobs, with friends that have the same we just cant do the raids and thats crap. it wouldnt change anything for the people that already do them but open it up to those who havnt yet. yes people will drop out but then more will be added in just like a strike though you would hope people doing a raid would be more serious about the whole thing, if not a vote boot player option would be good for those taking the piss. in summary it hurts none and opens up the game for those who need it....why not

Matchmaking in fireteam would be useful, people have to leave and you get left with a 4 man fireteam.

Yes I think there should be a matchmaking but I think the gear received should be a teir lower than regular raid. And also difficulty reduced since 99% or randoms will have no mic and no communication makes it just a long strike. But I say yes on those terms.

No. Play some strikes with randoms. Some expect you to do all the work so they get mission reward. Ive seen players not even move from spawn up until the end of boss fight. Thats with 3 players, imagine 6. Then how do you handle checkpoints? Cant expect a fireteam of you and 5 randoms to stay at it the whole time. What happens if someone gets disconnected? No matchmaking but I would support an area in the tower for joining a raid group. Atleast then you can check out gear other guardians have on, everyone can get ammo synthesis ect

Well tbh i don't mind a MM system for it.....as long as we don't see the forums spammed with NERF NERF NERF NERF - plain and simple people in a random group will either have to get used to using a mic or get ready for some anger management haha

Now I've finished it I feel more confident I could lead a bunch of randoms through it. You should always have the choice for match making. A few ideas they could implement could be matchmaking is unlocked at level 28 and you must have finished the raid once. The problem aswell is that the raid is only available to loot once a week. The majority of my friends finish the raid then can't be bothered doing it again and I don't blame them. So finding six friends who haven't done the raid and are all online is difficult. I understand that people might quit out of match making but at least 5 different strangers would be able to find 1 person to fill the gap. A vote to kick feature would be essential. There is no reason this should not have match making the novelty and awe that you get when you first walk through the vault of glass diminishes over each run. It's still a lot of fun don't get me wrong but it's not something I need to do with friends. [spoiler]anyone who disagrees is wrong[/spoiler]

14 RepliesThere is no reason to click NO. IF you are against it then use your own team of friends and you dont have to suffer from the matchmaking. But people they dont have enough friends to go there can enter VoG with pickup groups. Even when they fail its still better then NEVER go in there. And on this way you can meet more people to team up. So there is realy no reason to click NO if you use your brain... And no, iam not alone and dont have friends. Iam in a group of friends that do VoG easy but i still support the idea of matchmaking for VoG cause its a win-win for all.

I work, I have a life..a crappy one but still, I have football to watch, films to watch, a girlfriend im occasionally allowed to have sex with when its not grumpy! other games to play forums to troll on :) family to visit, i eat and poop etc etc sick of having to post in the forum....need a raid team blah blah no replies or jumping around the tower of silence sending game invites! spend ridiculous amounts of time in the tower pointless could just have a menu system for most things! Just have matchmaking for people who want to jump in and get on with it ffs! and keep the option to go in as a dedicated raid team also for those that can....Everybody happy then! If this isn't done by the time COD and Halo come out and every other bloody game in the stupid xmas rush ill just play different game...because you know.....ill actually be able to play the -blam!-ing game :)

I guess yes but only for a fireteam having already a minimum of players. If 4 friends want to do a raid and 2 people are missing then great. If it's 6 people randomly chosen, and nobody knows anyone then NO. It won't work for sure. And me.. I'm leaving in Japan.. I don't wanna play with Japanese guys.. I do speak a bit Japanese but can't hold a conversation during a big fight. In English it's already hard for me to speak under fire.. Anyway that's not a stupid idea but needs some settings/limits/rules. And of course you should be able to talk with anybody, but well Bungie knows about it for sure ^^' don't wanna spoil but if you can't talk, at some point you're gonna get crazy or leave the raid really quickly. Anyway the raid is awesome !

Voting yes. Either a match making system or an ingame option to tag ourselves as available for raid/nightfall is needed.

Yes of coure. Simple fact is it should at least be offered as a choice. If you don't want to participate and already have a fireteam with which to raid with then by all means go ahead and do so and leave those who don't have the time or means to group up with others to use the matchmaking tool. I don't see why anybody would be against this. People keep saying its too hard for a group of randoms to run the raids and if that is true then so be it but that dosen't mean its impossible. P.S. Bungie, if you don't add matchmaking for raids until some future point thats fine but please at least add matchmaking for the weekly heroic strike and the nightfall strike at least.

I think yes. however i dont know how it would work. Raids are a big commitment unless you've already completed them 15 times and know them like strikes. they take time skill and repetition. Alot of randoms wouldn't stick around to finish a raid.

Add matchmaking, add a warning that you're getting into some pretty serious business and that you might not succeed without communication. Simple and effective. Nerfs won't happen then because people would've been warned about what they're getting into. Thus removing their right to complain.

Matchmaking won't work. If you don't the raid we all know you will die a lot. Some guys die once and leaves a strike. One person leaves a raid and that's it raid is over

Matchmaking would help but i don't think many matchmade parties would go far because of the lack of communication and teamwork that is required to complete the different stages of the VOG. Matchmaking in daily, weekly and nightfall strikes would be greatly beneficial but like i said before i'm all for the above if it means more players can experience new aspects of the game and hopefully enjoy themselves.
