It is wonderful that Destiny possesses aspects that competitive gamers, hardcore gamers, core gamers and casual gamers can appreciate, but there is a particular group of gamers that are hurting the general gaming community. From reading some forum threads, one may be under the impression that kill-death ratio (KDR or kdr) determines whether or not you are a hardcore or core gamer. I had a fellow forum poster essentially say that because my Destiny KDR is barely over 1.00, that I must be casual. The thing is that I also mentioned Dark Souls being one of my favorite games. I always thought that only core gamers and hardcore gamers would enjoy Dark Souls. That was the impression that I had when reading reviews and finally playing the game. According to this individual, gamer status is exclusively based upon the KDR of a specific genre or game and not the amount of investment. I will admit that I'm not a competitive gamer, but that does not mean that I cannot be a core or hardcore gamer. These competitive elitists really need to change their attitude toward their fellow gamers. They are poisoning the perception held for the competitive community. I know very well that it is possible to be competitive while not being a jerk.

IMO the first one to mention kdr is a douche. I mean mine isn't bad but it's not that great either. 1.23 for control and 1.5 or something like that for skirmish isn't much to brag about. Either way the first person to mention kd is a douche and need to leave
