Crucible is mostly full of COD players or terrible players
Swear down. Every time I play Crucible there has to be at least couple of people spamming the shotguns because their either sh*t or COD players. It doesn't bother me much if you need to it for some bounty but to be constantly using it, is just poor gameplay. Fusion rifles go the same way but at times doesn't really bother me that much. Like I've been in games where someone uses a shotgun at such a long distance thinking he/she can still hit me even though i'm shooting him/her with my assault rifle and causing damage. And just to point out, I only use shotguns when someone is getting close in a close-quarter area, but most of the time I'm using assault rifle.
Another thing. Why do people use their super just for one person? It's just a waste man, just hold on to it and wait for the right time. I just did a match and killed 4-5 people with one super and it was Striker with Shockwave and Recklessness. So as I use this in mid-air I can shoot down like a bomb and spread my shockwave across the floor in front, plus with my Arc of light surrounding me. Use it for two or more people but not one, just because you're going to die soon don't think you be getting much from it, because your not (unless it's the last kill).

5 RepliesThe crucible is different, it is a different play style needed than most other FPS's. I was just talking this over with my bro over a beer. The crucible is hard, it requires a multitude of things at the same time to prosper. 1) Patience. Taking your time and assessing situations before jumping into it 2) Quick thinking. I know this kind of counter acts the patience portion but it's necessary. After assessing you have to be quick and jump on the situation. 3) Aim. If you aren't hitting the head you won't win. 4) situational awareness. Use that radar but don't get glued to it. If a dude is running straight at you, you know what he's gonna die so back your ass up. He's either running with a shotty and closing distance or gonna FoH and hulk smash the ground and again closing distance. So keep that distance. 5) have fun. Seriously, I dance constantly in PvP, while I capture a point, after I kill somebody and know my radar isn't active. I do it for fun and dancing is just plain fun. Seriously the first week I liked the crucible, not many people ran with Shotties and fusion rifles. Week 2-3 I hated the crucible and couldn't figure out why I was struggling with a 1.0KD. For the last week I stepped back and re thought how I approach it. It's not Halo, it's not BF, so don't play it like it is. Over this past week I've easily maintained a 2+KD and had games where I've had a 4.9+KD. It's different, play it different.

Blah Blah Blah...if you cannot deal with the shotgun guess what? you are bad! instead of pointing fingers at so called"cod" players and calling shotgun users shit why dont you just learn to play smart? I get killed a lot by shotguns and fusion rifles but you know what? I deal with it. Another thing, why do people use their super on just one person? well...because THEY CAN and once they use it they can start charging it again for another super to use . if a player feels like using his super on one guy so be it. it's not smart but hey at least he's got one kill and still alive

I'm spec'd out with a ton of intelligence and abilities that cool down super time. That plus just getting kills and its a waste NOT to use my super. In the time I spend waiting to hit a group, I can get 10 one at a time and use my super twice during the same time period. Then you take into account that more individual kills will boost your Grimoire and give you more bonuses.

I was shocked to learn in the beta that the shotgun was basically only effective at point blank. Which is why I don't bother to carry one in PvE. If your close enough to use the shottie you might just as we'll melee your target. 2. The only thing dumber Than using your super to kill one person is to finish a match not having used it at all because you kept waiting for a perfect opportunity that never came.

1 ReplyAs much as I'd like to agree with you on the supers and the abundance of shotguns, not complaining just stating facts. I used to play cod a lot, and don't agree with you on them being the majority of shotgun users. I never used a shotgun in cod, sniper/assault rifle guy, mostly because they sucked. usually never fell to many either except for the model 1887's before nerf. Although camping and the lone run and guns come from cod, I think the shotgun abusers come from halo, which had the similar shotgun damage/melee combo ko. But I agree I learned quickly you have to run with your team if you want a chance at crucible.

1 ReplyLol, usually I can tell if I'm playing with former CoD players if they all scatter out individually once the match begins. I used to do the exact same thing when I jumped from CoD to Destiny. Crucible tends to favor teamwork. And using a super on one person is definitely a waste. I can't tell you how many times I've prevented myself from performing panic supers only to be presented with an entire team capping a flag moments after I respawn.

its time to stop blaming cod for this shit show. COD doesn't have grenades that explode up to three times. You know, just incase you suck and your grenade placement is atrocious.

Agreed. Playing Skirmish is a mess. Idiots play it like death match allowing other teams to dominate with 3 and 2 on 1s.
