Made by yours truly to vent my frustration with the direction 343 has been taking Halo.
What do you guys think?

I'm enjoying watching this new halo trilogy play out because I'm as old as the halo series and got into halo when halo 4 was dropped. Now I have read the comics, I have read the books, and I own halo, halo 2, halo 3, halo 4, ODST, reach, and CE anniversary. Even though in on 360 I feel line owning each game as its own is better then having then all changed from their original form (anniversary editions).

A game franchise can only stay fresh for so long, Bungie seemed to care less about the game in the last few years they had it. As much as H4 annoyed me, I can't fault the commitment 343i are making to keep the series alive.

The biggest gripe I have with 343 is that they played up the forerunners' importance. They're not supposed to be shown, dammit, that just reduces the charm and mystery they had in the main trilogy. I'd rather they move on from the forerunners entirely and take the story in a different direction.

Decent quality upload. But if chief killed 343, wouldn't he cease to exist

Edited by Reign of Bane: 10/2/2014 8:44:49 AMI actually like the direction 343i are taking Halo, yes they messed up with the MP but they have listened to the fans and addressed this in MCC and from what we know now, Halo 5. Bungie should look at Halo 4 and see how you should tell a story. Halo 4 is much better than D**** They are tying the lore together too, I am currently reading the forerunner saga and they are some of the best books I have read for a while.
No I am not a noob, no Halo 4 was not my first Halo. My first Halo was CE back in 2001. Hate all you like.
Edited by ch33zy burrito: 10/1/2014 11:41:49 PMI just don't care that much about the series anymore. Every new release takes something away from the previous one instead of just adding content (The least they could do is replace it). I'm also annoyed at how they've basically solved all of the Forerunners mysteries. I'm not saying if prefer it unsolder but at least do what Bungie did, interact with the community, add hidden terminals that you can watch in game, add characters like mendicant bias or adjutant reflex, add ARG's like ilovebees or iris, show us that you care. Overall I'm glad they're fixing the things Bungie did wrong but I would rather they add more stuff before they fix the new.

343 are doing a great job with Halo.

It follows a book.... They did nothing wrong

Why would Chief beat up the people who gave him character?

I still don't understand why people get so bent out of shape over Reach (Looking through the subthreads before I posted this.), It was a good game and very fun. Sure it had flaws, and supposedly broke cannon, but quite honestly, people need to relax over the damn thing. It's four years old. Hardly anyone plays it anymore. Sheesh.

Best thing ever

I was also skeptical about 343i after Halo 4. I mean, it had it's flaws but they've been growing on me. The fact that they are listening so much to their community is a great thing. And replaying Halo 4 made be see it in another way. It's a lot deeper in it's story telling than Bungie's were. A lot more emotions. I am very excited to see how Halo 5 ends up.

in my opinion the way 343 takes halo is good A game with more story details is good :D
-
Did you play halo 4s amazing campaign? 343 actually cares about halo lore. Master chief collection Halo 5 going back to classic arena halo, no armor abilities, no loadouts. 1 month long beta for feedback. Bungie gave us reach a broken canon breaking game that 343s update barely fixed. Bungie would have turned halo 4 into Destiny, that's the direction they wanted.

I like the new direction. Not saying the bungie direction was bad, because I loved it, but its a nice change
