tl;dr - Would Destiny be better setup as an MMO?
With the recent outpouring of disgust over the lack of original content, it begs the question of will things get any better. The biggest reason I haven't jumped on this bandwagon is that I'm holding out hope that future DLC will bring more quality content like the Vault of Glass, which was some of the most fun I've had in a video game in a very long time.
Destiny is not an MMO, as we know, but the most MMO-esque aspect of the game is the Vault of Glass. Unique mechanics, necessity of actual teamwork and communication, positioning... you get the point. I don't have a great deal of MMO experience, but this really felt like what an MMOFPS could be. Needless to say, in hoping future raids get this much attention, or more.
To get this content, we're obviously going to have to pay for it, and this is coming in the form of DLC. My question to you, the Destiny community, is this: would Destiny work better with a monthly subscription and regular content updates? Would you prefer this method? This assumes content updates would be often/large enough to grow the game into an MMO-sized world within a year.
I am not claiming Destiny is an MMO. Please don't waste time by telling me this already very obvious fact.
Is there any chance we can avoid hateful or rude posts here? I'd actually like to have this discussion.

Great, cause then i would not need to pay 70$, i could just pay 30, or 15, realize it was shit and save the rest of my money.
-
I would NEVER pay a subscription for this trash. This is a game to get me to the next game that could have been much more
-
No. There is not enough content to be paying monthly for this game. Esp with all the connection errors happening now. Who would pay anyway with a level 30 cap?
-
Vault of Glass was absolutely the experience I wanted out of Destiny. They need to add more raids before December though to keep the raiders around.
-
i would stop playing if i had to pay monthly, that's not what xbox/playstation is about, was really upset when i read the elderscrolls online required a monthly fee
-
No its big enough for a monthly fee or good enough
-
Hmm...I don't know...there would have to be A LOT of content for me to want to pay a monthly subscription charge on top of PSN charges. Hence the reason I've avoided WoW, TES:O and other subscription based games. It could work, but not for this Destiny. Maybe another Destiny game in the future...
-
Yeah that's pretty much how WoW became such a big deal a few years back as they could concentrate solely on adding more content and fixing bugs as its pay monthly
-
If content was released consantly like every couple of months I would pay monthly other wise its better just paying for dlc when they make it
