For those of you using successful MMORPG expansions as justification...

...for Bungie's current lack of content, stop right there! OBJECTION!! I'm off work so if you're interested in my ideas and would like to reflect and share your own, feel free! I've listed them in EDIT 4! I'm also rewriting this so that it's not being done from my phone and from a computer, in such a way that removes all the boisterous posts and gets to the point. How many of you actually played WoW? I've seen on these forums a growing trend the past few days which results in posts stating that this game is much like World of Warcraft; devoid of lore, gameplay, and proper progression. There's been other comparisons as well, such as Guild Wars 2, Boarderlands 1 & 2, and even Final Fantasy 14: ARR. I don't know about the majority of you guys, but I've played most of these games form their dawn. I started with Warcraft 1 thorugh 3 and eventually Vanilla WoW. I played Guild Wars 1, I couldn't get into Guild Wars 2 after capping, and I strongly supported FF14 (before ARR and after even). These games quintuple the content currently available in Destiny. World of Warcraft in 2004 had more content than this game could hold a candle light to, at least at its current state. The reason being is because tons of the core lore was removed from the game and placed into Grimoire Cards. The point of this post was to invoke thought and push people away from making comparisons between apples and oranges (thanks to the user that used this). What can Bungie do to make this game better? In fact, why do you people continuously compare WoW to Destiny? I was thoroughly satisfied with each and every WoW Expansion. They were truly granting us hundreds of new missions and large, vast, unexplored areas. The first of its kind was amazing and Destiny is nothing like it. So, why? There is very little fulfillment in it. Some of you say, "Well, quit. You won't be missed." But I won't, because I wanna provide some criticism, ideas, and contribute as a fan to what this game could be. I'd like for our complaints to do to Destiny what it did for FF14. For those that don't know, FF14 originally dropped the ball. It was a horrible game, literally releasing an alpha. People didn't buy into the bullshit, some of us stayed, some of us left, and eventually they were forced to remake the game to FF14 A Realm Reborn. I found it amazing how all the fans stayed with Square Enix through their -blam!- up but wouldn't tolerate the trash they released before ARR. It took many of us to agree that FFXIV was trash before Enix stood up and said, "okay, we are releasing what we promised." Anyway, I don't think anyone should defend Bungie. This is clearly a different game than what was advertised! Don't talk about expansions from other, more successful games when you don't understand how it even came to fight for that expansion. This game is incomplete. This isn't a ten year project. Instead let Bungie know what is wrong. Push for a rerelease. If you're a fan, do what you can. Voice your dissatisfaction and don't put down others for voicing there's because it can't be ignored forever. Eventually the media will see it and Destiny will experience a helluva backlash. Just look at what we are to get from this week's patch. Off of two weeks of complaining about a broken loot system. Imagine what we could do with a month of complaining of a broken game. Just food for thought. Edit: And before you blame everything on Activision, just remember who owns Blizzard. ;) Edit 2: Consumers have the right to complain. Edit 3: For those that miss the point if my post, to summarize and down scale it, complaining and providing intricate feedback isn't going to harm this game, but make it better. To compare two world's, one from Blizzard, one from Bungie, without taking into consideration all the facts that made their games successful is fairly stupid.dont defend this broken game. We can list new IP's that have had more content upon release and had a much smaller budget and time scale (Tera, Blade and Soul, etc). They chopped your game up. Feel free to bitch until they give you what they promised. And lastly. WOW had more content in Vanilla than Destiny does within its game and hastily written Grimoire Cards if you want to go there. Tl; dr: If you can't research Blizzard, WoW, and their content at launch, or at least take into account the money spent per month to maintain their servers, as well as other, more considerable factors, refer to my title and don't compare WoW to Destiny. Allow people to complain about the game, it will help fix it. Bungie needs to know people are dissatisfied. It will help. You can see that in the past, companies who listened to their fan base have succeeded (FF14 ARR) though that isn't guaranteed. And there are titles with single IP'S released recently with more content than Destiny can hold a candle to, such as TERA. Also, monthly pay doesn't excuse the shit story. Bungie needs to revamp that. Edit 4: I'm off work so now I can focus on delivering some of the ideas I've had formulating: Story idea: I think the story should be revamped within the game, so that we have a better understanding of the current events and our purpose within the world. This includes the reason we were revived with more intricate detail, what caused our deaths. I feel that any raid in the future should have a deeper connection with the plot line (if this isn't already part of your plans for future patches). I hope that it's also a part of Bungie's plan to implement the lore that Grimoire's seem to be developing into the core story. If not, we should have missions that perhaps provide hints and explanations. For an example, don't you go through time in The Vault of Glass? What if we could add missions in certain points of the worlds that allow us to go back in time to relive some of these wars and trials? That would be fantastic IMO. A youtuber had mentioned something about spawning in the same location frequently. Perhaps that should change. Would be nice if you could impliment safe zones in which Guardian's gather, something akin to a social hub (think Loot Cave, but not the Loot Cave!). I noticed the Queen has control over the Fallen? I read one of the cards a while back in which it implied that Fallen seem to have a thought process of their own. Why not develop a village of fallen that focus on providing us rewards for solving puzzles regarding the lore? Feel free to expand on any of this! Strikes: Though large HP pools and higher mob damage does offer a degree of difficulty, I think it'd be much better for Bungie to impliment puzzles. Most of our Strikes involve us avoiding damage 90% of the fight and shooting at the boss for 5 minutes before they die. That's boring as hell! Lets change that! For an example: Boss A for Strike cycles through 4 shields and can only be shot while he has Black Colored Shield. Each Guardian is marked for 60 seconds by a certain color, which corresponds to the damage being inflicted onto the boss. If Guardian A has red damage and the boss has Red Shield, then he can shoot the boss to change the shield, while Guardian B and C do field work by clearing out mobs to protect Guardian A. When the Boss Changes shields, Say it comes out yellow, then Guardian B who is Yellow would cycle it again, while Guardian A and C clear mobs to protect Guardian B. Eventually you'd have cycled through the shields and gotten Black Shield, so every Guardian can now inflict damage for X amount of time. That's just a rough idea. But it sounds like a decent time if done correctly. Make it puggable so that everyone has a chance to join! My roommate had a similar idea, but instead everyone starts with -30% fire rate and 20% off their shield. They have to solve a jumping puzzle in order to gain 70% fire Rate and 100% shield for 20 seconds while dodging AoE damage from the boss. I would like more ideas on this!- Loot: I noticed you've started working on loot. I applaud you on that. The only complaint I have at current time is that we need to rid ourselves of Xur. Someone made an amazing post about Exotic Engrams! Yes! This has all of my upvotes. Exotic Engrams that allow us to get GEAR that isn't part of Exotic Bounties or Raid Rewards. Raid loottables need to be kept seperatly from Xur. They need to be slightly buffed. PvP needs to have its own loottable with weapons that can be obtained based on a ranking system, which should reward people who do well! I suck at PvP but when I see someone on my team or the enemy team with 8k points, I think to myself, "-blam!-, I hope they get something worth their time." Maybe impliment a ranking system with tokens in which the person can go trade for rare/exotic gear sets (with SET BONUSES) for PvP. Something that makes everyone say to themselves, "Damn, that guy must be something decent."
