3 Possibilities, all equally dissapointing

The Reddit AMA is true

The Reddit AMA is false but close to the truth

This is the game as intended by Bungie

The game is fine as is

So... I finished the game and like most of you felt extremely let down by the "story" that was told. We are never given any back story on our character, other characters that appear in cut scenes or the tower or even the enemies we are fighting. There was literally zero emotional connection to anything in the game. This brings me to my point, I see 3 legitimate possibilities for why this is and I am interested in the feedback of the community. 1. The Reddit AMA is nearly 100% accurate and comes from someone "in the know" who currently or formerly worked for Bungie. We see the possibility of what could have been: Different warring factions within the tower, discovering that the traveler (and we) are the enemy, making a decision as to which side of the conflict you fall on, true open world, voice chat, trading, etc. 2. The Reddit AMA is false but something similar happened. For reasons unknown the story was changed around a year ago and those pieces that did not fit with the new story were cut. When Bungie says those areas on the disc are not complete they are being truthful, they have not yet been adjusted for the "re-worked" story. If those areas were to be opened as is then things would make even less sense than they do now. 3. This is the game that Bungie intended for us to have. The ViDocs and E3 2013 reveal were intended to hype up a game that they did not intend to give us. Bungie truly believed that the story that is currently in game would be sufficient for the initial release and that we would be held over by repetitive strike / mission grind until the DLC drop in December. 4 I know I only said three options but in order to be fair I added a fourth for those of you who feel that the game is fine as is and call those of us who are unsatisfied "cry babies". I understand with a post of this type there is going to be a certain amount of backlash so here is your outlet. Regardless of your response I think we need to accept that this is the way the game is and there will likely not be any major changes made to the existing content prior to the paid DLC. I know that we don't want to believe it but I am afraid that we need to come to terms with the fact that Destiny is a disappointment and move on to other titles that actually deserve our time. I expect the number of Guardians in the world to drop dramatically due to the release of Shadows of Mordor.
