Bungie's love of glitches/exploits

Remember Halo 2? Remember the first time you thought you got the drop on someone but at the last minute they inexplicably punched/shot you in the face resulting in your immediate death? Remember when you thought you had the best BR skills in the game and the first person you came across in the match killed you with an unrelenting barrage of BR bullets? How about the time you thought you had the enemy pinned down with a sniper and one of them suddenly shot 500 feet in the air and landed on top of the tower on Ascension? Bungie has a long history with glitches and exploits in multiplayer games. Unless absolutely necessary they usually let people exploit these errors in the code. If the BXR combo from Halo 2 didn't get addressed I find it highly unlikely the loot cave will be addressed. Bungie it seems, actually likes when players discover something the developers never thought of. While I don't expect this to sway even one person's thought process when it comes to the loot cave subject I felt compelled to get it out there anyway. If Bungie allowed truly game altering glitches to remain (in what at the time was the most popular online console experience) that DIRECTLY impacted another person's experience, then I see no reason why they would not allow people to spend their OWN time shooting into a cave for hours on end. Thoughts?

  • Well the loot cave has been patched as of Hotfix 9/25 so I believe there won't be a lot of people complaining it's an exploit anymore.

    • Bungie may not care, but Activision will make you pay to use the glitches, therefore working as intended until we see a $9.99 loot cave DLC

      • I feel I should tell you, that there is a post around here *ill look for it* that was about the cave and a mod said its not an exploit. also, crying about the BXR combo??? all I have to say to that is I hope your not buying helo master chief edition...because that combo was specifically stated that they purposely worked it into MCE, since it went so well in halo 2... you people have a funny way of calling things you don't like exploits...god..

        • I honestly only use the cave for a little every other day to level up some new armor or test weapons and level up ones i like a little quicker before tackling crucible bounties or strikes. I don't sit there for an hour, 30 min max, i usually wait for the random event and after that I bounce out. If used in moderation it's not different than picking an easy mission to get a bounty or doing the very first strike over and over for the 5 strikes without dying bounty.
