Hotkey Items for D-Pad
In a tight fix when you need to use something like an ammo synthesis you have to pause and pull up the screen and, usually, deal with spinny wheels while it loads. In the meantime you're being peppered with mobs and may end up dying while waiting. Would be nice to be able to use the d-pad to hot key items of our choosing, such as these, to avoid the spinny wheel of death :)

This is great idea you know how many times ive died because i needed to switch my sunsinger ? Or had to switch to my sniper or fusion rifle

I love the idea and totally agree. Consumable items, toggling weapons, and creating on map markers for team members would benefit players far greater than four taunts.

I'd love to see context sensitive or sets of selectable functions for the d-pad. -If you're dead then you can tell your team to not revive you. -During a strike you could call out "going left!" -There should be more emotes like "thanks, want to join?, a decline..."

4 RepliesBump. I already posted a thread on this but didn't receive the same support. 1. The 4 emotes can be selected from a small transparent sub-menu pulled up by 1 of the 4 directions. 2. Ammo synthesis is an absolute NECESSITY for 1 of the 4 directions - applied to whatever gun is currently equipped. 3. Check the status of your bounties via a transparent quick-view display; pulled up by 1 of the 4 directions. 4. Go crazy with the 4th direction; perhaps summon your vehicle so we can avoid the 2-step process of pressing back/select?

If i had to map the dpad id say hold down for consumable items and have an 'a' 'b' 'x' y' so you have 4 mapable items [Or the respective playstation buttons].right could be subclass selection, up could be weapons, and left could be the sit wave point and dance

Oh god yes. But the game would be too easy :( If I don't stand out in the open and wait 30-45 sec for the inventory screen to come up I may never die. Muhahaha haha ha. [spoiler]loading on the ps3 is so bad. I wonder if this is even a issue on the next gen.[/spoiler]

D-pad customization sounds best, dances, emotes as well as hotkeys.

just make them customizable. you can still have gestures if you want, but set some to other things. It would be nice to have 2 different setups as well. one for the feild and one for tower. or even better, one for tower, crucible, mission, strike, and so on

This works extremely well in the souls series. I would rather have a d-pad for selecting weapons, items, or changing between grenade or jump abilities. Allow us to customize what we put there. While the gestures are cool, let me decide if I just want the wave and the rest be custom.

3 RepliesHow about instead they would use the PS4 controller to it's full extent? Why can't we have "swipes" across the touch pad? It worked REALLY well with InFamous second son, dunno why it couldn't here.

I too would rather be able to swap between my scout rifle and pulse rifle on the fly or quickly swap between the sniper or shotgun instead of just being able to point dance wave or sit. I have a mic to do all those other functions except dance and if i really wanted to dance I can hot key it to the d-pad still. I fully support this suggestion

I also think we should have a quick swap for certain elemental secondary weapons it is very annoying in a raid or nightfall to pause and swap for wizard/captain shields

You just made me realize how useless the d-pad is. Mass effects multiplayer did the same and I find it helpful, why not have this in destiny.

2 Replies*bump* I agree I've played over 100+ hours now, and "randoms" don't use the emotes for anything usefull Ill be in a cave and "wave" to someone to get their attention then "point" to a loot chest (not saying i do it for every chest, but if youre near me, I dont mind waiting the 30seconds) Runs or Swoops right past me like a I am a ugly blue Warlock tree Heck even if you can only Hotkey one ammo synth I'd gladly take that

Double tap D pad for ammo type refills. It seems so obvious yet I still have to open my menu in a fire fight then die because I can't see to get more ammo
