I know alot of ppl have talked about this, but how exactly does this work? Could someone possibly break this all down? i know theres 3 different ones... Do you join by buying one of the marks? thats the only thing available for me...And whats the point exactly of joining one? And then im guessing afterwords crucible matches give you points towards your faction?
And is there any reason to join one and not another? or just preference.
much appreciated

Hi guys. I have started a new character and now I am at level 20 but it won't let me join a faction at the moment. Is it because dead orbit won the faction contest or something? Any explanation would be great so I understand better. Cheers

Essentially to be in the faction, just buy their class item for you. Then level them up by doing any type of vanguard or crucible bounty. This allows them to level up at double the rate of just a vanguard or crucible separately. I chose the Future War Cult because their armor gives me increased Discipline and Intellect, which helps me since I'm a warlock. Just take a look at what they offer and base it off of that.

Joining is basically a term for working your way on earning reputation points. You can actually join any one of them if you are that willing to waste much time doing bounties and patrol missions just to reach a certain rank with that said faction. That said, to earn such from a specific Faction requires some Class Items to be worn at the time of completion. Although Vanguard and Crucible are earn simply without it as they are given by default upon completion of said Patrol Missions and Bounties.
