Occasionally if you pull the trigger directly after hitting the change weapon button you'll fire an effective shot from your primary or secondary before it becomes unavailable to fire again until you've fully readied it. I've noticed this a lot on the "Doctor Nope" Auto Rifle where a single bullet will fire before it stops for a bit and then continues firing when I'm done readying it.
