Angry Destiny Review (Bungie MUST watch this)
Boy, I watched this and Angry Joe has it alright with Destiny, this is not what Bungie promised.
Angry Joe nails it in every aspect of this.

I'm with you MastaSin. I've seen you around since before Reach and even before I made my BNet account. We were at similar levels of enthusiasm and hype, and I just couldn't agree with Joe's review more except for his final rating. Minus the hype, because of how polished the gameplay is, I think a 7/10 would have been more appropriate, but given the hype and given what we were promised, which technically /shouldn't/ be part of the evaluation, 6/10 is more understandable. Though today, with the queen's wrath bounties unlocked, he does appear to be wrong about the queen only being there to promote DLC - this may end up being the case, but it does put a nick in what was previously a completely solid evaluation. See what I mean? It kind of makes me doubt the doubt that I have about this game. I will continue to word-of-mouth tell people that if they want a really fun FPS action game that they will like the gameplay, but not to expect much in the way of stories at all, and I will certainly not advise them to play the campaign all at once in one sitting - me doing the "Explore" missions on various planets and collecting bounties in between campaign levels did help insulate me from the repetitiveness of the campaign missions. and I must note that his ending was spot-on. Corporate Commander needs to get their blam-ing hands off of blam-ing Destiny or so help me I'll blam this blam-ing blam into Activisions mother's blam if they destroy Bungie's reputation because of some blam grab for money by using Bungie's name. Which they already sort of have done.

Wow he does nail it hey. So Angry.... We want to love the game but it kicks you in the junk over and over. Can only hope they bring Destiny up to a more fulfilling experience in the long haul with NEW free content along with worthwhile paid DLC.

Yeah not a fan of Angry Joe, and I find some of his videos I watched irritating and sometimes bias, but this one is close to spot on. I mean I myself enjoy the lore and have seemed to pick up on the story alot better then others I have read, in which it invites me to read more lore online. I feel like I'm just starting a new epic novel and I cannot wait to see what comes next.

And he has a point in this review too. He should probably research that whole 500 million dollar thing too. Destiny's actual game development budget was around 150 million give or take. Now marketing budget, that's a whole different story, though it still doesn't approach 500 mil. Good on you for posting this cause they need to see what they've really made after all that PR hype.

3 RepliesIt's pretty dumb that a lot of people will go off all day long saying how IGN, Polygon, The Escapist, GameSpot and gaming journalism in general is all corrupt and untrustworthy and they're bribed for their reviews... but everything Angry Joe says is super legit? Pretty major contradiction there. But anyway, I watched this review yesterday, and totally agree with pretty much everything he said. And I'm really glad that the general consensus on this game has been that it needs to be improved... because Destiny is not nearly as good of a game as it could or should be.

It's amazing how they can get people to play a game that is half of what was expected and after all the dev hype videos talking about things you can't even do in the game. I was hoping Activision would be a better company to the customers than EA. Then you have Bungie not saying anything relevant. Just be honest with your customers. sigh

I agree, 100% even... still going to play like crazy though. It doesn't sound right to me saying that, the game is a bit of a let down but the crucible is fun as he'll, I just hope Bungie doesn't concentrate their everything on it and not at least putting in a good amount of story into the game you know 😕

Angry joe is God lol i agree with evry thing he said I like destiny it has a lot of potential but we deffinately didn't get what we were told we were going to get we didn't even get close lol n he's right pvp is the only thing holding destiny up and it was deffinately way over hyped hope this game gets better the gaming industry needs a change it needs a new king and with allot of improvement I think it will be the game that knocks cod of its throne n b4 ppl start calling me a cod fanboy I hate the game can't stand it it hasn't been good since mw2 I'd just love to see a new decent game on top not the same old shit that cod brings evry year
