Why am I still having problems?

I bought this game a week and half ago. I've not had a good solid gaming experience since I've started playing. At first I was upset with how short/lame the story was. Then I realized there is still more to come with the expansions, so I let it slide. Then I hated the crucible (still do). But that was mostly because I was around level 4 and was going up against guys around 22. Don't know why Bungie decided to build a game with no level locks to prevent guys with fully upgraded armor and guns from playing against people just starting, but it is what it is. Perhaps this will be adjusted in the future, I dunno. I'm contantly finding places that clearly should be open, yet are blocked by invisible walls. What ever happend to "see a mountain in the distance? go climb it!" Alas, I'm always telling myself "ah, 'future expansion'. But anyway, I'm getting away from my #1 problem, and the reason for my rant today: Why, after 2 weeks since release, and months in alpha/beta testing, are the servers so god awfully unstable? You'd think a company that has as much money as they got from sales, that they would at least have the ability to fix their servers. If you need more, BUY more. If the ones you have are crappy, MOVE to a different serving company. Perhaps it's just the Xbox360, as I've seen numerous posts about server stability from people who have the 360, and rarely those from any other system. Still, the least you could do is fix the error code report. I spent almost an hour today trying to do the "Sword of Crota" mission for a bounty, just to get booted back to orbit after spending all my time just getting to the first target area. This happened on average every 5 minutes. Every time it "crashed" it gave me an error code, and by now I've seen them all. If they were all the same error, yeah; I could troubleshoot that. But there not. To me, that tells me that the game is so flaky that it doesn't know WHAT caused the error, and is trying it's best to point the finger to me. And what's worse, all the error codes you get all have the same answer when you search Bungie.net for them. How is that helpful at all? So far, my troubleshooting has gone way more than it should be necessary for a simple console game. I have a static IP address on my xbox, with all the ports Xbox/Destiny want open. The router is a gaming router, which I have configured to give primary bandwith TO the xbox when it is on. I have turned off all devices (mobile devices, other computers, smart tv's, bluray players, etc). I have also tried putting the xbox in a DMZ (ignores the router, puts the xbox directly in line with the modem). I even tried connecting the xbox directly to the router (not using DMZ, but literally hardwired directly). Nothing solved the problem. I might get a few more extra minutes out of the game when I play at 2am, but it still garaunteed to drop the connection anytime. How can this possibly be a networking error on my end? If the network was being dropped, I would lose my Xbox-Live connection, which never happens. I would lose my live Party, which has happened more frequently SINCE Destiny launched but not when I'm playing something else. Destiny is so broken, it's a joke. The worst part about all of this? Bungie and their partners are blatantly ignoring their userbase's cries for help. The posts are there, everywhere, on bungie.net, on twitter, on facebook, on reddit, EVERYWHERE. People are not happy. Why do you continue to ignore us? A simple "We are aware of the problem and attempting to resolve it" would be so much better than just a "Bungie is actively tracking this general networking error. Your disconnect was reported the moment it occurred. If you continue to receive this error, please consider following the suggestions at http://bungie.net/networking".. Somebody over there needs to WORK instead of play games. I don't rant often. A lot of times when I look back, I feel like I've gone too far. Or I write it hoping the the companies responsible would actually read it. Then reality hits, and I realize that the only people who read it are either people having the exact same problems and agree, or people who don't have any problems at all and think I'm just cry baby. The fact of the matter is, the game and/or servers are not ready for launch. There are LOTS of people out there having server issues, and if Bungie and company want to have a serious game, they need to improve the quality of service to their users before everybody decides it's not worth it. They made a ton of money when the game was released. What if everybody just quit today and took their games back for a full refund? They would be completely out of all that money. I'm nearly at the point myself, but I'm hoping they get their acts together soon.

  • Most people don't realize this, but crucible does NOT depend on level (except for the iron banner). The only thing that matters is your guns base stats.

  • I'm curious to see if anybody on the PlayStation side is having trouble. Maybe Microsoft's servers are to blame. It would explain the random drops in party chat that happen while in the Destiny game, but not while playing anything else.

    • U will just chill. Gta online had so many problems worse then this. Do u know how many people are on this game. Servers crash. Get over it. It's only been two weeks. And btw they do have a cap on armor and weapons in crucible. U just wernt good enough. Tho the better guns do have greater impact and rate of fire. But not damage output. I was getting third at level 7 against level 22 in my team and a better KD streak.

      • I have the xbox one and I cannot connect longer than two minutes. I also have set up my router and tested the connection several times. ZERO packet loss. 87ms latency. This is the only game I've had problems with. I game on mega servers on my PC, so I know my connection is solid. Hell, I even played with BF4 when it launched with minimal hick ups. I feel I got robbed on this.

      • Same on Xbox One, can't even get on at the moment & when I do it's only going to drop out while I'm on a mission or a strike, can't even explore the world on patrol, I luv this game but I'm so fed up with it. You buy a game for £50 you expect to be able to play it. Come on Bungie do something to fix this.
