Public events broken?
I thought you were supposed to get a reward for doing public events? It's been at least a full day since I received anything. Is there a point to doing them if there is no reward?

1 ReplyI used to get an ascendant shard or energy once out of every 3 or 5 public events and I understood that. But I haven't gotten either from a public event in 4 days. There must be a cap or something.

The only reward you are guarenteed is 2 Vanguard marks for Bronze, 3 for Silver and 4 for Gold finishes. The Upgrade materials/Motes/Strange coins are only a guarenteed reward for your first Gold event of the day (Postmaster). After that, any other Gold finish has a small chance of giving you one of these in addition to your marks. If you haven't received any marks, then you've hit the weekly cap of 100. (Check your Advisor screen on the Strike playlist) If you aren't getting any upgrade materials, then you either havne't had a Gold finish; you haven't checked with the Postmaster...or you're just having bad luck.

I've done 20 plus events after vanguard cap never got the random shards etc so w/e

Sometimes I get a reward and sometimes I don't. I have no clue what the -blam!- Bungie is doing and I don't think they do either.

2 RepliesThey're a joke, just as the legendary engrams only giving you blue ones. This game is so unrewarding to the point that I don't even get excited about these events or legendaries.

I get a reward of 1 shard after i di 3 events on gold ranking. This events are just a joke! They way to rare, very boring and not rewarding. One time i did an Event complete alone. No one was there but me and i still got nothing! The events in Defiance was way better and more entertaining then in this multi million dollar project called Destiny....

I was farming today for about 3-5 hours, did about 8 events in the area and got nothing on either end (some motes and coins from engrams at least)
