Is the Treasure Cave an "Exploit"
To all of you that think it is. Have you ever played any RPG at all? All RPGs have a farming/grinding aspect. In WoW back in the day how did you get the crusader enchant? You sat at a tower waiting for spawns to pop to get the drop.
When you need materials for something, how do you get them? You go farm them at the most efficient spot available. I laugh every time I see someone complaining that this is a "exploit" and it's not "legit". There is no guarantee that even if you get a legendary drop it'll even stay legendary.
I personally have farmed everything and continue to do so weekly for rep, marks, and gear. If you have a problem with it then don't do it. Play the game how you want to play it. There is no economy system in this game so it's not hurting anyone at all.

3 RepliesExploit. This cave was most likely unintended to be used in this manner as it circumvents the style and spirit of the game as far as farming goes. In any mmo since EQ, this would be an exploit and would be patched at the earliest possible moment from the dev's. I would like to see people punished for using this, but I honestly don't care because the people doing this are getting skills in killing low level mobs walking out of a cave instead of actively learning attack patterns and how to actually deal with this shit in strikes....*sigh* if strikes were harder. It's an exploit, calling it anything else is fooling yourself. Go ahead and use it, cause it's been known for awhile and bungie has yet to say ANYTHING on the matter as far as i've seen.

Not an exploit. They designed their loot system to work like this. Just kill level 4 enemies a bunch and get some of the best gear in the game lol. Sounds pretty stupid when you say that out loud.

Yes it is, but idc. The three roll random system put in place keeps it pretty fair. All anybody hears about is the success stories so it seems like it's the best thing ever. But what you don't hear is about the guy who farmed it for two hours and got nothing while his friend went and played strikes and ended up with 3 legendaries in one strike. Or the guy who got 4 legendary engrams which all turned into greens. Getting legendary engrams doesn't mean shit. You still have to roll for the rarity of item and if it's an armor piece you have to roll for class.

1 ReplyHonestly I have no problem with the.cave and I do it all the time, but I do think that it is exploiting the mechanics of the game. Farming and grinding were meant to happen and I understand that, but the ease in which people can farm that one spot in comparison to others does not make it seem like it was meant to happen

2 RepliesIt is mainly because you stop the hive from getting out of the cave and spawn camp them, there is no real fight. If it was a real fight and you gave them a chance than It can not be consumed an exploit. [b]BTW I support farming and grinding.[/b]

1 ReplyNot saying you are complaint.. But everyone who does complain about it is so funny to me. Omg I earned 100 green engrams 45 engrams and 5 legendary engrams after like 3-4 hours. There is Such a LOW chance that you'll get anything good from it anyways.. So who cares. I earned most of my things the "right" way but I still go there to farm because it's fun seeing all those orbs drop. Earn your gear the way YOU want to, because at the end of the day it's has no effect on anyone else and it's just a dang game.. Play for fun and have that fun any way you want to.

It's not an exploit. Indefinite spawning is clearly intentional because it's a shared world. As players come and go those AI have to be there for them to kill. It's not an oversight on Bungie's part at all.

Seems to me if they thought something was wrong with it they'd either remove it or make the enemies noninteractive. There's something fundamentally wrong with anyone's thinking that considers killing an enemy to receive loot as cheating. This has been the cornerstone of video games almost since they began, shoot enemy = get powerup. I could see it if the enemies there were bugged and dropping perfect gear every single kill, but they aren't and they don't so there isn't anything there to be exploited. If someone wants to bore themselves with essentially shooting fish in a barrel for hours at a time, it's their ammo.
