Various Disconnect Issues and Errors - Solved [for me, anyhow]
Playing Destiny on the Xbox 360, wired and/or wireless - have had issues since day 1 with multiple disconnects from XBL and/or connection errors from the Destiny game servers [caterpillar, cattle, etc] each time I played. [I'd estimate 8 - 10 disconnects within an hour, if not more.]
My ISP is Cox and my network was set up using a modem/router combination from ARRIS/Motorola [model SBG6782-AC], which I had actually just purchased to increase the speed on my downloads. I had experienced, prior to the Destiny release and after the new modem/router was in place, frequent disconnects while playing Halo 4 as well.
Long story short: Last night I switched back to my old hardware [Motorola Surfboard modem and Cisco Router] and for the first time since Destiny's release I was able to play without interruption the entire time [several hours]. I suspect the absence of a separate piece of hardware for the router coupled with the way Cox handles ranging requests from the modem was the cause of the issue. Obviously I'd like to eventually switch back to the newer hardware [I may just need to update the firmware], but for now - all is well in Xbox land.
Maybe [I hope] my experience might help someone else. I know how maddening the constant drops are.
