Ungrateful Gamers
For years I've been reading gaming reviews and gaming forums and I sometimes can't believe what I'm reading. The amount of nitpicking at some of the most minuscule of details gives me the impression that these are not real gamers. A real gamer cares about having fun, not nitpicking frame rates and pixels and pissing all over the team that created something special. Appreciate it for what it is people, it's a game and a special one at that. So thank you bungie for creating an awesome world to get lost in and more importantly something that is fun.

8 RepliesAre we obligated to fall in love with this game? I've been a Bungie fan since Halo 1. I've bought and played every Bungie game since then, and loved every one. But I do because Bungie has, in the past, put out high-quality content. Destiny, however, has not lived up to the hype, or the ridiculously high standard that Bungie has set [i]for themselves.[/i] As much as I am a fan of Bungie, I am no less of a "real gamer" for speaking my opinions on Destiny. Do I enjoy Destiny? I do. And I feel it was worth the price of admission. But am I disappointed by the end product, and the apparent lack of recognition from the developer? I am. This is a prime example of how a runaway budget and two bloated companies can end up crippling a project that promised the world.

When you go out to eat, do you sit quiet if your order is wrong? Most people have their food sent back for the correct order. Unfortunately this isn't the best example, however if someone is flat out saying "You can explore all of what you see." But then can't move within the area resulting of a small parking lot, then you have a problem. I don't [i]mind[/i] Destiny, but this type of game design is toxic. Promising the high heavens then only providing a slice of angle cake is unacceptable. What these companies don't want you to realize is that WE the consumer have [b]ALL THE POWER[/b]. This is exactly why I don't support Diablo 3 after what they pulled at launch. Sure they made the game better and changed a bunch of stuff, but it will never be close to the game I knew and loved, for various reasons, which is fine. Just because it doesn't work for me doesn't mean it doesn't work for others. That's life kids... I see a lot of feedback on the game because a lot of us want destiny to do well. If we didn't, I'm sure some would sell the game, trade it, or simply leave it within the depths of the game library as one of those games that was but wasn't. but seriously Bungie, Half a Bill and you have FAR less content than just about every shooter on the market from the last TWO years. We need to make Bungie HUNGRY to prove themselves to us. I still don't understand how a game company that brings so much innovation with previous titles be so far behind. Is it about the money? It's very likely... and that so unfortunate.

I do think this game is great but when I beat the raid and then I get no rewards because the timer is just glitched out and stuck at zero and we can't go back to orbit I get a little pissed.

It's about customer satisfaction. I don't want to pay for a pair of Jordan's & receive a pair buddies. When that happens ppl r going to complain. If u like it & don't care about your dollar spent then that's ok. But the same goes for ppl that do care... It's ok. The biggest issue is bugs, glitches, unkept promises, putting out unfinished products, zero customer support & the pure crap attitude towards the ppl that buy their broken toys. This seems to b the norm in the gaming industry. Games use to work & were playable for almost everyone now it seems to b good for a few & crappy for the majority. There is way too much info out there on these companies & their attitudes about us the customer. The trend I've seen happen since the ps2 1st went online is as it gets prettier to look at it becomes less playable. They have trained us to believe that glitches & bugs r normal & that slow maintenance and patches r to b expected. We r just a testing ground as they try if at all to fix it. So until they have majority of their customers satisfied with what they bought your gonna keep reading ppl bee itching about the flaws

This is the most correct thing I have heard about destiny and those people that pick on it's few flaws. I couldn't care less about graphics or frame rate (unless it was completely terrible) or whether there's one little problem like the reward system that apparently "ruins the game". People have been spoiled so much with other great games which may have better stories, better frame rate etc that they have learned to expect the very best, and have forgotten that what their playing still had effort put into making it. People need to be more grateful with what they have, because other people aren't so lucky...

I concur OP. If a game is buggy as hell...that is a different story and then one has a reason to complain. I know there have been conn issues for some...but no probs for me in that respect. Overall...Destiny is solid.

The biggest gripe is the loot system. People are actually mad that friends are gearing up before them..... How this world turned into an entitled vat of haters is beyond me. Not sure whether to blame society or parents.

For people to be complaining already is ridiculous. This isn't CoD and this game had an alpha and a beta so it's your own fault if you bought this game without knowing what you got yourself into.

You are absolutely correct OP. I am tired of reading things that people want changed or want added. Bungie built this game the way they did for a reason. If people don't find it fun take it back to Gamestop and get something else. If all the nitpickers think they know how to make a great game then they can go out and get a Game Design degree, go work for or start up their own studio and make the game their way, or they just shut the hell up and play the game or sell it. It is just that simple.

2 RepliesReally it's just the community I see the problem with, they buy the game then complain on the forums saying stuff needs nerf and then go on to say farming should result in ban. You can't please everyone but the what I see is just plain out stupidity, now don't get me wrong players like yourself are greatly accepted in the gaming community but I see elitist thinking they are better than everyone then want everything nerfed or make some reason to complain on the internet. I am very disappointed to be apart if this community with all the trolls, haters, and spoiled brats but I know there are still a lot of people on this community who are respected and you should be one of those people

I'm sick of seeing the same posts over and over, nerf the shotgun, nerf the warlocks, nerf the vehicles, nerf mars, nerf the players, nerf the game...people need to grow up, if you're not happy go play CoD, bye bye ;p

Perfect example of the hyped up rubbish that they pull every time. BF4? Didn't even work. Aliens Colonial Marines? They've done this for years. You think they should get away with it? Bungie however has never pushed the FR and graphics, they've always used artistic talent and concept to trump brute force graphics power. I don't think many expected Destiny to be super high resolution.

......reviewers are praising destinys graphics and fluid gameplay maybe not the frame rate but even then ive heard them say even if its lower than other games the quality doesnt drop no matter how much is happening on screen destiny seems to be passing on the nitpicking but failing on the more major flaws =/

8 RepliesThere are far my problems than the frame rate. It leads me to believe that you aren't a real gamer if you cannot see the clear and obvious design flaws in this game.
