Best close quarters combat class

****Edit after leveling all 3 classes and most subclasses******** After more hours of gameplay I returned to the voidwalker and bladedancer is still up there. I still feel the same about the Titan and both of it's subclasses. Gunslinger is still for ranged. Sunsinger would be the close 3rd place but without blink it falls short. BladeDancer: Gap Closer : Blink, extended slide, or invisibility which is great for flanking while being hidden from the radar Survivability at melee range: invisibility/quick melee cooldown/blink/health regen/quick draw Lethality at melee range : High risk high reward I think the best options would be to stack strength and fast twitch to give you a 3 second CD on blink strike. Along with quick draw and hungering blade. (maybe stalker to replace hungering blade in some maps). Pair this with blink and you have a master at skirmishing. Voidwalker: Gap Closer : Blink (it's just so damn good) Survivability at melee range: Blink with a melee that has the farthest reach (even more than blink strike by 0.5 meters) Lethality at melee range : High risk high reward The whole running around with a shotgun and force magic pimp slapping people is just so satisfying. Especially when the reach of that melee is longer than all the other melees. Paired with blink it just makes you a menace to the melee society.
Alright so let's leave out supers for obvious reasons and compare more of the ability and class modifiers. Moving forward, I think there are 4 possible candidates that has the potential to be the best CQC subclass. These 4 are Bladedancer, Striker, Defender, and Sunsinger. Gunslinger is obviously a ranged precision class and Voidwalker being a nuking ranged class. Of course every class I speak of below will be amazing at 1v1 encounters if played right but I'm more concerned of being able to punch/knife/w.e in a gun fight of 6v6. I was always the in your face kinda player in any game and switching to my primary weapon is almost never an option. I'm still trying to figure out the best CQC class for myself so what are your thoughts? BladeDancer: Gap Closer : Blink, extended slide, or invisibility which is situational at best. Survivability at melee range: invisibility/quick melee cooldown/blink/health regen Lethality at melee range : High risk high reward I think the blade dancer has a plethora of utility skills that can allow them to stay in melee range, pop in and out and make their kills. It takes (a little) more finesse but it can be done. I've def went HAM/got wrecked an equal amount of times. Striker: Gap Closer : Juggernaut (Maybe shoulder charge?) Survivability at melee range: Health regen / chance of no cooldown on melee Lethality at melee range : Probably 1 maybe 2 enemies if you're lucky If stacked with speed he can be deadly. Juggernaut is probably one of the most frightening things to be on the other side of but let's be honest his skills are basically kamikaze based. Once in range the striker has no utility to survive long enough to get 1-2 kills. He's a cooldown hero. I've never been able to run into the team and kill more than 2 (without hulk smashing). Defender: Gap Closer : None (slide?) Survivability at melee range: Overshield on melee kill Lethality at melee range : High risk high reward If stacked with speed I see a lot of potential. Especially with all the modifiers to beef up your overshield and even the exotic arm piece stacks it's overshield effects. Once in range just make sure to get that melee kill and you're golden. This class was great but I felt that I got shot down before I closed the gap more than anything. But when that gap was closed and I got that initial disintegrate kill... damn. Sunsinger: Gap Closer : Blink Survivability at melee range: Short overshield on melee kill and blink Lethality at melee range : Probably 2 maybe 3 enemies if you're lucky This class just seems like a less intense version of the defender. More mobility but less beef. But that could be the deciding factor between 2 kills or 5 kills. I haven't actually played this class but my assumptions are that you would be able to do what a defender does but with a little more room for error?
• Also for those that are actually following, just for min/maxing. I narrowed the choices down to BladeDancer and VoidWalker. Simply because blink is hands down the number 1 skill you need if you're a shotgun gimping, fusion rifle toting, knife wielding, force pimp slapping, close quarter combat fighter.

  • Sunsinger doesn't have Blink. That's a Voidwalker only skill within the Warlock class.

Strikers shoulder charge 1 shots people. They don't have a chance for health regen on melee kill, they DO. Fist of havoc is the best melee range panic button. I don't see how it's anymore "Kamikaze" than any other class; it has the most armour + defence after sprinting. Their exotic helmet gives melee speed, which stacks with gloves. I don't think any class can run into a decent team and get more than 2 without using their super. With the chance to 1 shot or have a large shield + highest armour + health regen after melee kill + panic button super I'd definitely say it's the best melee class, winning me most of my melee exchanges.

      • There is none. Personal Playstyle doesnt really work in pvp. In pvp no matter what class you roll everyone will run around in close quarters maps and melee, slide, shotgun or something as such.
