The first raid in Destiny doesn’t mess around — even opening the gates in the first area is a challenge. How to Enter the Vault of Glass The Vault of Glass is the first raid in Destiny, added post-launch by Bungie to keep high-level players busy. Raids are special cooperative missions requiring six Guardians to tackle. The Vault of Glass is available on Venus at Level 26. How to Open the Vault Doors Starting the Vault of Glass raid, you’ll need to solve a “puzzle” before the main doors will open. There are three Vex pressure pads scattered throughout the opening chamber. Each of the pads needs one Guardian to stand on it. Standing on all three pads summons the spire and once complete the vault door will open. To activate a pad and begin constructing the spire one Guardian needs to stand in the circle for several seconds. Once a pad is activated, Vex will begin teleporting into the area and assaulting each of the three plates simultaneously. If Vex enemy gets inside the circle you’ll begin to lose Spire build progress. Defending the Plates The most effective way to defend all three pads at once is to split into 3 teams of 2 Guardian each, with one player staying inside the circle while another guardian helps defend it. The Minotaurs are the biggest threat. Save Heavy Weapons and Overcharge abilities to quickly get rid of them. Whatever it takes to get them out of the fight. While it’s possible to roam and splinter off to help other groups, you’ll risk leaving spire plates exposed. When the Spire is complete, a laser will fire into the Vault doors and open the way forward. Good luck defeating the diabolical Vex raid boss later in the raid!
