okay so here is something you must take into consideration . A true raid is not meant to be accomplished by all the players i mean look at wow vanilla for example you are worry to find 5 other dudes to play with what about finding 39 people ? oki there is an in game chat and stuff that we don`t have on destiny but come on its only 5 people + give time to other to lvl up only a small elite of gamer completed the Vog on day 1 because they have been playing non stop since release for people like me who is more casual i expect to go in the vog beginning of next week or this weekend. Next as said above raid are not meant to be played by all players and that`s what make a good raid. People might be able to complete vog with 5 random in 6-8 month when everyone will have done it a couple of times but right now its impossible and that mean bungie did is job . There is no reason to have a matchmaking right now because you are obviously never going to beat the first boss because of wipe (no one know the strat + no raid lead to to guide) /non-communication/not enough gear...I give an hour max to 6 random in Vog before they quit the group XD for the people that watch steamers trying hard on the last boss of fog yesterday you would know what I mean one of the streamer spend hours to put different groups together and he never succeeded people would ragequit or could not communicate properly which lead to a wipe auto. They eventually finish the boss when one of these numerous groups actually stick together and even then they still had to try for 2-3 h before they could beat the boss (all that in normal mode in hardcore there is no checkpoint wipe will result in restarting the raid from start apparently). That why raid rooster exist. if you cant find 5 people then strike is designed for you even if i agree the matchmaking is not great. From my point of view it would have been a disaster if you could just rock in Vog lvl 20 with 5 random found in matchmaking and beat some boss on the first week like that, for me raid is also a great way to build strong relationship in a game environment i mean my experience in wow vanilla raid taught me that when you wipe multiple time on a boss with the same 39 people well the day you beat it you really have that feeling of team work and common accomplishment that you share with these people that what a raid is. These experience are impossible to create in a matchmaking environment it only happen if you had to struggle a bit to find your proper rooster and keep it together and then you can start to consistently run over the vog because after a few week/month together a good rooster can do amazing stuff (like cleaning 10 boss of naxx 40 in one night -blam!- YEAH). If you would have put more effort in finding a rooster in stand of writing that post you might have been able to go to Vog tonight think about it. To finish that long essay of mine what do you think is better ? making 5 friend during multiple night struggling on a raid having to work together at all time because one death = wipe and eventually succed or being match randomly by a bot with 5 other people who you might never play with again an beat the raid in 1-2 h without any communication or minimum teamwork (that sound like a strike to me) ? gg to whoever read all this shit.
