Want to do a story mission and your buddies aren't on? Have fun playing alone. I have about three friends who play destiny on the XB1 (I have others on other systems). One is level 6, the other is 14, and the last is 20. I'm 25. I can't play with any of them, except in the crucible. Forget the lack of story, traversing the same terrain, completing the same strikes... there's ZERO player interaction for an online only game. What a disappointment...
